Great price!!! Let's hope the US region A set will be priced just as reasonable. Been waiting a long time for this!

Great show but I'd never buy it on Blu Ray.

And I agree, that is a more reasonable price compared to other shows.

Was this even filmed in HD?

It was quite a few years ago - It was certainly never transmitted even in widescreen in the UK

It's filmed in 1.78:1, so this will be nice in 16:9.

My guess is it's not filmed in HD. But 2001: A Space Odyssey wasn't either and that looks bloody awesome on Blu-ray!!!

No, it was filmed to a 35mm film, which is more than enough for a 1080p transfer.

Default A Space Odyssey; Filmed in HD vs. 70mm

2001: -A Space Odyssey was filmed in 70mm, so it's a bad comparsion because 70mm looks better then anything else, but look it up in Wikipedia should be under "List of 70mm Films". Lawrence of Arabia was also filmed in 70mm and the thing is that the negative is 70mm not like in most cases a 35mm blown up to 70mm.

Do we know if this is a locked set yet? Will it play on my 'Region A' PS3?

Well the USA set is locked so don't be surprised if the UK Release is locked

If you have a Region 'A' player, I would suggest you get that one. They will most likely be the same anyway.

Who told you the US version is "locked"?

Not only is the US set region free, it is also more than likely that all the discs in the US set feature the exact same encodes as the equivalent UK discs (i.e. the data is exactly the same, down to the very last bit, across all the discs in the UK and US releases).

Warner Bros has never and will likely never, ever, region lock any of their titles.

Yeah, forget my original posts. I got told by a friend it was locked and also saw the back cover which supported that claim. Although yesterday, i found out it was Region Free but didn't have time to edit my post.
