“After thoughtful consideration, Paramount Pictures and Skydance have decided to postpone the release dates for Mission: Impossible 7 & 8 in response to delays due to the ongoing pandemic. The new release dates will be July 14, 2023, and June 28, 2024, respectively. We look forward to providing moviegoers with an unparalleled theatrical experience,” Paramount and Skydance said in a statement.

The moved release dates are no surprise, with much of the world experiencing another Covid outbreak. It makes sense they want to make sure most people can get to the theaters and see their movies, especially with health risks a major concern.

Doubt it. Last time Paramount pissed off Tom Cruise was when South Park made fun of him. Almost to the point where Tom Cruise threaten to not promote any Paramount movie, if my memory serves me right anyway.

This delay does not make sense. Its been reported around the Globe now that Omicron is mild in Spain they are even grading down Covid to the flu now.

Difference is, this is a very expensive movie to make. Also Tom Cruise didn't risk his life doing these stunts for a streaming movie. Tom Cruise is literally the face of the franchise. Piss him off and there is no more Mission Impossible movies.

They would lose so much money too. Studios are done putting their blockbusters on streaming. They have finally learned they belong in theaters first then streaming/Blu-Ray
