Same here. Tried it a couple of times and stuff still sent in poor packaging. Mine was finally handed off to the USPS and sat there another day before being delivered today. After being delayed so many times I assumed the worst. Woke up this morning to clean out all the snow we just got and the mailman came driving down the street. BB put it in a box with air pillows. One section of pillows wasn't inflated but overall it was intact and in good condition. Probably won't get to watch until tomorrow but I did check all the disc artworks and they appear to be the correct discs. This will be my first Afterlife viewing.

They don't want to confuse a big chunk of their potential audience that would have no clue what happened in a game originally released 12 years ago.
Why couldn’t they have turned the game into a animated movie then with modern cgi then somehow do a follow up after that.

He means him having pictures of his daughter proving he cared about her he just wanted to keep her and the world safe. which the caring about her part and the fact that he even had kids is out of character. because egon was never the emotional type he was kinda like Sheldon from Big Bang theory.

Probably because that would have been beyond corny.

I should have said early sheldon oops but you make a good point maybe if they had a prequel that shown egon’s growth maybe I’d except it but I don’t know. I’m still ticked the game was made non canon because it’s the opposite of this movie. this movie is too bleak yes ghostbusters 1 and 2 had scares but it wasn’t bleak.

My set has arrived. I shall tell the tale in photos with commentary:

This is the condition in which UPS has delivered my package. Needless to say there was some...concern before opening the flimsy bubble mailer Amazon decided to use for this very expensive set.

And here, the damage has been done. Though not nearly as bad as others or as I had feared.

For the contents, all was well aside from some slight corner dings on the slipcovers.

Even the lights were in perfect working order and surprisingly bright. The picture doesn't do it justice. I had to actually bring down the brightness in camera.

But now, the true villain reveals itself and the horror is barely contained. I have received two Ghostbusters UHD's instead of the Ghostbusters II UHD.

So, if anybody out there has a spare Ghostbusters II UHD from this set, give me a holler and I'd be very happy to work out an arrangement with such a kind hearted person.

This set should have been delayed to prevent this happening to anyone. Another type of product issue happen to other sets some weird milky colored issue on bottom of the discs causing them not to play right for some people. so yeah current releases should be delayed so these issues are less likely.

I can’t believe I agree with someone from screenwave but hack the movies review of ghostbusters afterlife is how I feel about this movie. I feel it’s a drama disguised as a ghostbusters movie the humor is missing the tone is wrong it’s almost like a remake of ghostbusters 1 without what made it so good.

Mine is on its way to the UK and I dread to think what kind of condition it’s going to turn up in. The Resident Evil and Underworld sets both arrived in the bubble mailer but I honestly thought there was no chance the $100 (and larger) set would be packaged the same way.

I sent an e-mail yesterday to consumer@SPHECustomerSupport.sony.com for the same problem. We'll see if anything happens with that, but since this has happened for a few people in here, maybe if enough e-mail them we can get this resolved.

Probably for the same reason they ignore the game. My parents, for example, are Ghostbusters fans but would have zero interest in watching an animated film or playing the game.

And here my takeaway is that Egon had multiple levels to what others saw was his slow break with reality (starting off with attempting to drill a hole in his head), as well as an amazing work-life balance and professionalism to not involve family and coworkers.

Unless Sony published the book themselves (nope) then they would absolutely have to license it back from the publisher/rights holder and pay fees/royalties in the process (even if those fees are to themselves!). Just a guess but that's likely the reason why the book has been OOP for decades, the royalties were probably negotiated in the short term and no-one wanted to pick up the tab years later, similar to how first-run music rights tend to disappear from TV shows.

Oh Christ, please don't get him started on that shit.
Sony didn’t publish the book because they didn’t own Columbia Pictures in 1985, and if Coca Cola owned a book publisher in 1985 I’d be shocked.

Apparently Don Shay is the founder of Cinefex and he retired years ago and left his son in charge, only for his son to pull the plug on the magazine citing COVID difficulties. But I’m sure if Shay and his family, with their secondary copyright, their material that is worthless without Sony’s material and their financial woes, really put the screws to Sony and jacked the priced up on this box set.

Loved the game, and I wholeheartedly agree, but could be swayed that it might've been enjoyable if Bill Murray hadn't sleepwalked through his recording sessions.

Yeah I just sent off an email too with the photo of the duplicate discs. We shall see.

That's hilarious. So, the belief is that even someone emotionally detached could never care about or take interest in their child? You can see notes in that bunker where he even took an analytical approach to his daughter's life while surveilling her from a distance.

And this means they "disrespected" Egon? Because he had sex at least once and kept tabs on his daughter? Ok. At least I know that I can completely abandon my family, but as long as I check out their Facebook pages every once in a while, I'm a "family man".

So now they did have to license it and it's because they're being gouged by the Shays that the price has been jacked up? That's a hell of a u-turn
