Ghostbusters 4K UHD (1984)

Surprisingly Amazon shipped out my order today! Sending it across the pond by way of DHL or at least that is what they say, DHL has yet to enter it into their system. ETA on the 21st but probably be a bit quicker.

Now to sit back and wait for what state it'll be in once it arrives...

Correction:

I meant to say that Sony hasn't replaced the old Labyrinth release with a DV one that is only available in a digibook.

I have no idea if this set will include the new transfer or old transfer. But the picture shows the new cover art. So here's hoping. Though the concerning thing is that the case pictured is bluray but could be a mistake.

My mistake that I wasn't clear on if you wanted the DV, it is only available in the digibook. Sony still haven't replaced the older release with the newer one.

It is a single release though; it's not a boxset. The only difference from other "single releases" is that it comes in a Digibook instead of a plastic case. It even has a slipcover.

Labyrinth's new disc was not included in a multi-movie boxset tho. I think that's what they're trying to point out to you. Sure it's a special edition but it's a single release.

There's damage ofcourse, but I thought there would have been more damage to the exterior.

Funny thing is that the inside was also damaged, and that was BEFORE it was shipped, because no way a bump could have destroyed the inside.

It's crap anyway, a gimmick and I'll probably put it on the pile of special packaged boxsets.

Mine arrived in pristine condition on the outside, but similar to yours, heavily damaged on the inside of the box, with no damage to the slipcases, special features or book. Oh well, nothing a little hagelslag can’t cure I suppose.

Yes. That is my mistake. I meant to point out that Sony still has both releases out but haven't phased out the older one. So it doesn't seem likely Sony will phase out the older GB releases and replace them with DV.

But in Canada, we are getting a 3 pack release. So maybe these ones will be DV.

I do wonder if they are still pressing the older Labyrinth release.

Received from Zia Records. They went overkill, thankfully, on the shipping box. Said shipping box was much larger compared to the set with biodegradable packing peanuts, and on the set was secured with bubblepack with it being in pristine condition. Everything was correct, discs, slipcovers, and even the digital code to sell! Only a slightly weird glue like residue on the slipcover for GHOSTBUSTERS: AFTERLIFE. Swapped the discs for the Special Features case since I figured it seemed more suitable for Disc 1 to be on the right and Disc 2 to be on the left.

Already took the contents out of the set, put the 4K titles on the shelf, and then the two remaining where it belongs in my collection. Very neat Making GHOSTBUSTERS has an ISBN too!
Will eventually get around selling and sometime, of course. Those two are obsolete because of the Ultimate Collection set. Still keeping a few of the previous releases for reasons I already mentioned a time or two in this thread.

Edit: The inside of the boxset lights up fine but it's going into the large boxset size storage container along with Columbia Classics Volume 1 and 2 boxes. Too bulky.

My copy came in a NON-padded thin piece of Amazon plastic wrap!
It came in perfect condition unlike the one in the barely padded brown envelope!

Off to eBay I go to list for $900.99

You know I think I have a good theory on the mixed up disc situation with the Ultimate Collection Box Set. It seems some are getting a Ghostbusters 2 4K disc in place of what should be their Ghostbusters (1984) 4K disc and then their are people who are getting a 4K copy of Ghostbusters (1984) 4K in place of their Ghostbusters 2 4K disc. My theory is whoever packed these got the discs mixed up. So basically you could just swap with someone who was suppose to get the Ghostbusters (1984) 4K disc that got the Ghostbusters 2 4K disc instead with someone who got the Ghostbusters (1984) 4K disc in place of their Ghostbusters 2 4K disc and same with the Ghostbusters 2 4K disc being inplace of the Ghostbusters (1984) 4K disc. If that makes any since to anyone. I can try to make it simple here...


People who got Ghostbusters 4K disc in their Ghostbusters 2 case can swap with someone who got the Ghostbusters 2 4K disc in their Ghostbusters case. Like me I ended up getting Ghostbusters 2 4K in place of Ghostbusters 4K disc. Anyways just thought I would point this out if no one else has. Plus it doesn't seem Sony is doing anything about it unless they are taking their sweet time on it.

Well,I really lucked out.

My Ghostbusters Ultimate Collection came in from Amazon along with Stargirl Season 2 and they came together in a well packed box.There was packing paper inside and both the Ghostbusters box and Stargirl blu ray were very snug together with no movement due to the paper packed in with them.

1)No damage to either.I checked out the Ghostbusters set very closely,both outside and inside the set and there is not even a nick.

2)It lights up fine.

3)Afterlife has its slipcover.

4)All the correct disks are in each movie.

So big sigh of relief from me.

My Summer School Blu Ray just in the mail about 15 minutes after this.

FedEx updated and said my Catwoman:Hunted steelbook will arrive tomorrow(currently it's in PA)
