Question Buying any new releases this month?

June is a good month for my wallet. The only new release I may see myself buying is Gran Torino, after I rent it. Won't buy it blind.

Some catalog titles like, Spaceballs and Ghostbusters aren’t really the movies I see double-dipping, probably watched their DVDs 3 times. Not in the same league as The Godfather, The Shining, or The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, which had to be bought on Blu-ray.

Road House, Navy Seals, Sling Blade, and The Graduate, I don’t think I’d watch enough to buy either. So, I’ll just rent them again.

Maybe in June I can knock off some films on my wishlist. Gotta buy something, right? Maybe I will because most on my wishlist I'm waiting for their release in Taiwan or Hong Kong with traditional Mandarin subtitles.

Can you go this month without buying a new Blu-ray?

I don't think you guys can ever go a month without a fix.
No wonder you have 5x or 10x as many blu-rays than I do.

And as for the rest of the month:

i've picked up the Daniel Craig bond movies so far, but am going to do the best to not buy any more (except for High Def week at amazon if i see anything good) films until the release of Fast and Furious (end of july)

i'm trying to save my blu money and focus it towards a PS3 instead

and that was just stuff coming out in June. In terms of catalogues that were already out I bought a bout 6-7 so far and will likely do the same for the next couple weeks as well.

Some of you guys have real problems. 500 discs, or so! Get into programs. Just kidding, you all rock.

I thought I was buying pretty steady since last November. Now I can't lift my head up high.

I do have a handicap holding me back....yeah you guessed it, my wife. Not because of cash, because she wants traditional(complex) Mandarin subtitles. I was lucky last month with Good,Bad&Ugly and X-Men set.

I believe I'm the only one not buying this month.

As am I, except my cash is going towards a speaker upgrade...if only I knew which speakers I am saving up for. Haha. Oh, and a new receiver. It'll be nice to get out of school and work more hours.

There isn't much for me this month either. Chances are I am going to buy something on my wishlist or something older instead.

Just received Fletch (and watched it last night — excellent flick!); buying Ghostbusters within the next day or two; I also picked up Wall•E for kicks because our DVD crapped out from over-watching. That'll probably be it for me this month, though, unless I find a deal on something that's on my wishlist.

I'll be picking up Gran Torino on Tuesday.

I've got LOST Seasons 1&2 coming via Amazon.

I plan on getting Ghostbusters and Glory sometime down the road.

Nope, I've been slowing down on my BD purchases. I think I'll just get the big ones only and the Pixars. Why fill my shelves with movies I'll only watch once. Besides movies are so slow to come out, years and years pass before you see this or that movie finally available that, yeah I think I'm moving on and don't wait for the stuff anymore.

Exactly, what I have been thinking.

My DVD collection is full of stuff I've only watched once. Prices of DVDs really fell in the last 5 years. I've picked up a lot that I probably should've just rented.

Now Blus are getting cheaper and it's hard not to buy movies like, Rambo 1-3, Young Guns, The Searchers, Crash, American Psycho, Reservoir Dogs, The Wild Bunch and Basic Instinct because buy the time I rent it, spend the time and gas to pick up and drop it off I can justify buying them for 9.99. Except, by not buying these 10 movies I can keep 100 dollars. But on the other hand, 10 movies for 100 bucks is a deal. What to do?
