February, May, July, October. Those are all time periods when sales occur plus they have other random pop up sales throughout the year on occasion and also will see products reduced at retailers over the course of a year as well unlike Criterion or VS.

The interviews in the Hell Night release are all really good So far. I suspect that some folks at Scream really like this film because the effort seems to be there with this release.

They have to, it almost didn’t get released due to the poor quality of the print if I recall correctly. I know it looks rough but i’m glad it saw the light of day either way because it’s a fun movie

The last shot with
[Show spoiler] Linda Blair walking away from the car after crashing into the gate and guy impaled on gate

reminds me of Farmers Insurance commercials with J.K. Simmons. "Been there. Done that."

The transfer is pretty rough. Scream is not the best when it comes to restoration s, but I suspect that nobody would get a great transfer with what is presented.

I recall the film used soft focus filters in many scenes, making it look even worse than it should on VHS. An HD transfer from a nice print usually looks great. If a negative is ever found and is in good shape, it should look great.

I still can't believe Hell Night doesn't have good elements. It was made by Compass - the same outfit that produced Halloween. They were rolling in dough in those days - they threw away the negatives so they wouldn't have to pay storage fees?

Idk if warner is not willing to give it up... but an It (1990) Collectors Edition or 4k collector's edition would be EPPICCC.. at least for me...

Reviews don't affect me at all. I make my own decision when I receive and watch the film.

Meh. I think they both have a point TBH. Yes, it's true that you can't rely solely on streaming and that nothing compares to a psychical copy. However, he is also right that SF is charging a lot for it. These SF exclusives are way overpriced for what amounts to editions with old transfers, no new features or swag of any kind.

I caved and bought it because I'm weak. FOMO kicked my arse hard. It is a sweet flick though.

$30 is nothing in the grand scheme of things if it grants you the ability to watch Christopher Walken's incredibly bizarre dance with aliens until you draw your last breath. You really can't put a price on that.

Is there a chance Scream Factory has Dr Giggles? The old blu is quite disappointing and long oop, and I wonder who owns the rights to it now.

So what say you? Inside (2007)... Too extreme for Scream Factory or no? No US Blu Ray release to date and as far as I am aware it resides with the Dimension (miramax) library still, indicating that it could be within Shout Factory's grasp should they wish to license it.

I feel like the sales would be there as it's likely to attract the same kind of attention that The Poughkeepsie tapes attracted upon release. I just picked up the grey market Spanish blu ray release a few moments ago and so that's what got me thinking about it again.

Probably not available to Scream Factory. The Dimension Extreme titles are post-Miramax. One way or the other the distribution rights should still be with Lionsgate.

I did the same, and ordered "Dead Space" with it, a title I've been waffling on since last August due to the $27 price. As an appreciator of all things Marc Singer, I knew I'd eventually regret it if I missed out.

I just got my package yesterday, and happened to see that "Dead Space" sold out on March 2, so I got my order in just in time. If it only took 6 months for that movie to go out of print, I imagine "Communion" will be gone in a much shorter timeframe.
