Just off the top of my head, any Johnny To film is worth seeing. ELECTION I & II are the equivalent of John Woo's HARD BOILED or THE KILLER. Likewise, Andy Lau's and Alan Mak's INFERNAL AFFAIRS Trilogy. Stephen Chow's SHAOLIN SOCCER and KUNG FU HUSTLE are excellent post '97 comedies.

hard boiled made in 1992, stephen chow is the only one make good movie last few years in HK, China has far more big hit in cinema in HK since 2000. problem with current HK cinema is too much depend on look than talent. Most actor/actress in hk cinema are singer, which often sing is their main talent not act ! Is like Britney spears taking role of angelie jolie.
