Revisiting Rise of the Silver Surfer last year, it's really not bad. A pretty good comic book movie. Fant4stic is still the worst I've seen in the genre.

While the original is obviously better I DO think they make a good single movie split in two. Halloween 2 is underrated.

Maybe as much by virtue of being a bit more unique? The Road Warrior as great as it is I think you could argue is one of many grungy action films of its era were as really their not much else like Fury Road, most blockbusters with ideas of beign "credable" these days tend to go down the route of Nolanish complex high concept plots were as Fury Road stays quite simple and adds more arty visuals.

It's certainly better than Fant4stic, I'll give it that. At least it isn't missing its entire second act like the reboot seemingly was.

I'll say one nice thing about Fant4stic - Marco Beltrami and Philip Glass' theme was actually kind of neat. It's a shame the film wasn't. Check out the part at the 3:40 minutes mark.
