Will this be in Bluray as well or just DVD?

I've seen this movie when I was in HK. Very, very different Jackie Chan film as it is more of a brutal, violent drama and very few action (if you call it that) scenes. With Chan's support of the director in not censoring the violence, the film was banned in China.

It's about a story of one Chinese illegal immigrant in Tokyo (Shinjuku/Ikebukuro district) and his struggle to make ends meet amidst being associated with other migrants against the local Yakuza. Film is jarringly bloody, with Jackie's tragic character certainly being less-than-wholesome.

DDDhouse have it for $27.95.... they are pretty much always much cheaper than sites like YesAsia and I have always had much faster shipping (Actually I have had faster shipping from them than I have had with some Canadian based sites even which is both great and sad at the same time) than I did in my YesAsia days. Would never even consider using any other site again.

Scans if the box (cover of the BR is the same). While I haven't tested it out personally, I have seen information that says it is Region A Locked. Will hopefully watch it later and comment.

watched the film this past weekend. i think it works very well overall, the language switching and very varied staff working on the film make for a potential disaster, but thankfully (i think, anyway) it's pulled off in very impressive style. it's actually hard to say it's a HK film, as it feels more like a literal piece of "asian cinema" for it's mix. jackie chan does a great job, as do takenaka and fan bingbing etc. it's actually quite an engrossing drama, if a little too unchallenging to be a classic or to break any ground we don't feel as though we've been experiencing before - aside from the nice mix of cast and staff i mention, which we may rarely see again.

i still havent gotten mine :/ usually get my packages from yesasia (thats who i ended up going with) reaaaaaaaaly fast, Canadas been slow lately

I ordered from DDDhouse, and it shipped last week friday. I'm in Cali, so hopefully it'll be here this week.

I've received this today from Renchi (with the two red cliffs)

Had a quick look, it's locked to Region A. pq looks good, however theres a lot of noise (macro blocking?) going on in the black borders, which you can clearly see unless I turn the brightness down to 35, I normally have it on 44.

Aspect ratio is 2.35:1, so there will be borders on a wide screen tv.

Probably down to the company just getting into blu-ray and not knowing what they are doing

I received my Shinjuku Incident, it comes with a little book and that is why the packaging is big. It has a regular blu ray case within the package.

finally came today, wrapped in layers upon layers of bubble wrap and a black bag

it came from Ontario though -_- thats why it took forever... weird that it would come from there instead of straight from HK
