Tom Hanks(considered great by many and has won oscars) seems pretty normal, relatively. who really knows the truth though.
Denzel Washington? |

Agreed. Tom Hanks does seem pretty normal to me. So does Dustin Hoffman and Robert DeNiro, and they all are beyond great actors.

Bosom Buddies and the time he hosted Saturday Night Live in 1988 are some of the funniest things I've ever seen (along with the movie Volunteers) and Tom was in his groove. He may not have been self-destructive, but he was definitely out there, and good for him for not compromising. As for Shia and Megan, at least they've got the guts to say it as they see it. I'm not saying I agree with them by any stretch, but Hollywood is one of the only gigs in the world where you can kick, strangle, and mutilate the goose that lays the golden eggs and be rewarded by the very same goose if your name or your face sells tickets. While the opinions are there, the celebrities aren't the ones going to the movies after comments like these. They get a copy for being in it. |

I have been reading that ROTF has premiered in Japan. Has anyone got a vibe or reaction from those screenings??? I looked thru the threads and didnt see anything that related to this. If there is.. sorry! If not, curious to see if anyone has heard anything!
Thanks! |

On Facebook there are some individuals who went to the premiere that are posting on that movie's page. Apparently it's got a lot more action than the first, but again the story supposedly lacks.
Personally, I could care less about the story line. Don't get me wrong, it needs to at least keep the movie going at a great pace, but when I see this type of film I just want senseless action. Great popcorn flick fun! I'll pop in Pan's Labyrinth if I want an amazing story and great cinema. |

And Tom Hanks is probably awesome. I guess there are always exceptions to a rule. |

Then why do you work there? Why work at a place that does not make you happy to be there? You should like where you work, as well as have fun doing it. If you don't have any of those - your in the wrong profession. In the end, all it boils down to is your working to pay your bills. You are the middle man. You don't need "things" to be happy. You can be happy and live life in many different ways. Sure you buy things that make you happy and you have a car, house and all that - but whats the point? Why have all those things if you dread, hate, despise doing the one thing that has to be done every single day? That's what's wrong with the world today. Too many people doing things they don't like just to make money. Do what you like to do. Do what makes you HAPPY. I REFUSE to sell my life for $10 dollars an hour (example). Life is too damn short to be paid a crap amount of money for it. Your life - is only worth $5.75, $10.00, $15.00, $50.00 dollars an hour. Is that fair? Is that acceptable to you? It's not to me. My life is worth much more per hour. Again, life is too damn short. As for Shia - anyone remember Project Greenlight? I can't remember when it came on but I think it was about 8/10 years ago? That was the start of his career. I think his mom pushed him into it, but hes a big boy now. If he doesn't like it - get the hell out. It's that simple. I hate to hear people whine about how their life sucks and blah blah blah, yet they make all this money and still *****. GET OUT. Nobody is forcing you to do this. Leave. Go do something you want to do and stop *****ing. Hollywood seems to be filled with whiners lately. Joaquin Phoenix - prime example. He used to be respectable, god only knows wtf happened to him. So sad the state of things. |

He was probably drunk, depressed or out of his head or maybe all three.
I just think the pressure of being in the limelight & knowing how the paparazzi operate to get stuf as well as himf being snowballed into a Hollywood leading man is creating pressure's he's cracking under |

I'm sure Steven Spielberg doesn't want to be compared to Shia's dad, from another interview:
Shia's dad, the entrepreneur "My dad was a Vietnam vet. He was in Vietnam long enough to come back and be a disaster. My dad brought something called the 'elephant seed' to Oahu, Hawaii. And in Oahu, it became the 'Thai' stick. But how do you make millions on weed when you don't own a plant? Nobody owns a plant. Well, my dad wasn't thinking franchise. He was selling things to the Hawaiian mafia, and then they would give it to their cab drivers to sell when they picked people up from airports." |
