Exactly. Out-of-print is a relative phrase that can change by way of a single label announcement. Who's to say another label won't pick up a title after a contractual period has lapsed?

I missed Shout's "Communion" which sold out in 2 months. I'm not worried because I noticed that other labels keep tabs on films that sold out quickly. After Vinegar Syndrome sold out of RAD in record time, MVD and then Mill Creek released their own versions after the contractual period ended. Vinegar Syndrome sold out Action U.S.A. and MVD picked that up too.

I'll use this moment to politely request KL to look into releasing Communion as well, perhaps a 4K + Blu-ray combo after Shout's contractual period has lapsed.

I think I'm going to purge my Eureka Touch of Evil bd on eBay now that I have the Kino 4k.

This was the list of titles we shared with everyone on April 21st, all of them will be removed from the site on Monday:

The Covered Wagon
Old Ironsides
Papa’s Delicate Condition
Sunset in the West
Trigger Jr.
All of these are wonderful blind-buys for anyone on the fence. Two essential Paramount silents, a fun Jackie Gleason comedy, and two Trucolor Roy Rogers westerns. I was surprised how entertaining the two westerns were and the gorgeous Cinecolor restorations really look great.

I doubt we would be interested in releasing Mister Moses, but I can tell you that it either is not legally cleared or no longer with MGM.

The Mitchum starrer we would love to release if it was available, would Richard Fleischer's Bandido! co-starring Ursula Thiess, Gilbert Roland and Zachary Scott.

Is A Terrible Beauty (AKA Night Fighters) available? I'm surprised that hasn't at least got a DVD release by now.

- 3 titles: 1960, 1965, 1967
- 1 is new to disc (previously bootlegged)
- 1 was previously released on DVD only in the MGM MOD collection line
- 1 was previously released on Blu-ray (not by Twilight Time, Olive or Criterion)
- No horror
- No new-to-Blu AIP

On this evidence, I can't see any contenders for the previously-on-Blu title other than The Greatest Story Ever Told. I realize it seems unlikely based on previous comments by the Insider, but I'm struggling to see any other contenders, based on all the above information being true (The Magnificent Seven is almost certainly with Criterion, and even then would surely receive the 4K UHD treatment). I very much doubt Kino would go back to the original 70mm elements, but I'm sure they could improve on the existing Blu-ray.

If this is the case, it would leave 1960 and 1967. The possibilities as I have it:

1960

Cage of Evil (MOD DVD)
Five Guns to Tombstone (MOD DVD)
Gunfighters of Abilene (MOD DVD)
Noose for a Gunman (MOD DVD)
Oklahoma Territory (MOD DVD)
Three Came to Kill (MOD DVD)

The Pusher (NO DVD)
The Music Box Kid (NO DVD)
The Trials of Oscar Wilde (NO DVD)
Studs Lonigan (NO DVD)
A Terrible Beauty (NO DVD)
The Walking Target (NO DVD)

1967

Eight on the Lam (MOD DVD)
Fearless Frank (MOD DVD)
Kill A Dragon (MOD DVD)
The White Bus (MOD DVD)

Danger Route (NO DVD)
Live for Life (NO DVD)
Track of Thunder (NO DVD)
Matchless (NO DVD)
Operation Kid Brother (NO DVD)

I'd love the new-to-disc title to be A Terrible Beauty (would make a nice companion to Shake Hands with the Devil), though I'm not aware of it being bootlegged (by contrast, there is a bootlegged DVD of The Trials of Oscar Wilde on Amazon). Hoping the 1967 title is To Kill a Dragon, though I wouldn't be surprised if this decade was shaken up by the aforementioned 'lie, which would throw a few of these predictions out of joint.

For the record, the only applicable new-to-Blu candidates I could find for 1965 are:

A Rage to Live (MOD DVD)

The Dirty Game (NO DVD)
Mister Moses (NO DVD)
The year-by-year breakdown I shared was the complete list of unannounced titles, some them have been previously released on Blu-ray.

Thanks for the clarification. The numbers suggested that was the case (minus the upgrades to titles previously released by Kino), but I just wanted to confirm - for the 3 60s titles left, it is still one new to disc, one previously released on MOD DVD, one previously released on Blu? I think you originally said 4 60s titles, with 2 previously released on Blu, so presumably that only included 1 Truffaut.

Yes, it's available under The Night Fighters.

Another film originally released by UA that is no longer with MGM is Ronald Neame's Man with a Million (The Million Pound Note) starring Gregory Peck.

Yes, Mississippi Mermaid was originally listed as 1970 (US release date).

At least that one got a UK DVD, so it's watchable. Mister Moses is still wandering in the desert. But I'm glad to know the likely explanation for why it never got a US release.

GBU = The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. They are saying that they will make more copies of the slipcover for that release available for people to buy.

While my copy of The Good, the Bad and the Ugly came with the slipcover (I luckily managed to get a copy on release day), that's really great of Kino to be offering slips for sale. Considering UHDs of the other two films in the trilogy are forthcoming, I know it would bother me if one of them was missing the slipcover lol.

I'm hoping they'll release a trilogy pack in a slipbox after the fact. Save me from stressing out trying to get the slipcover for each film.

It's same the o-cards, printing 100 new o-cards is almost as expensive as printing 2500. Whenever we print 5000-10000 o-cards, there's always an overrun in printing, in some cases like SPACEBALLS the overrun was purged, in the case of GBU we were able to save the overrun and had them deliver it to our offices.

I was just reading about Lolly-Madonna XXX (1973) which was produced by MGM. It sounds like it would be quite good. I'm assuming this may have clearance issues based on the story. If it doesn't, any chance Kino might release it in the future?

We have no plans of releasing the trilogy as a 4K set. Maybe a Blu-ray version.
