To me Tobey didn't fit the bill as Spidey because I don't think he has the looks that original comic book character had and he definitely doesn't have the build. He's too small, too skinny.
I too liked Routh as Superman/Kent. His voice is very much like Reeves'. He also appears to have studied the first set of movies to nail down many of Reeves' mannerisms. I did not like their Jimmy Olsen and Lois Lane choices...but I (like another intelligent person here said) will try to remain optimistic.

As for Toby's expressions, or lack thereof, I agree with that...some times he seems like he's not into the movie, especially for SM3. But I still think he has a naturally Parkeresque way about him...Jake seems too confident, even when playing a nervous wreck. But his looks do fit the role, so we will just have to wait and see.

You're totally right about that girl playing Lois Lane. I wasn't buying it. She was pretty unbelievable, and had no elegance that the character requires whatsoever. I wish they would recast that role for the next installment.

One more thing, I really love Kevin Spacey as an actor, but he should have played Lex better as well. I was a bit disappointed with him too.

I have to disagree...as this plot continued from Superman II, I think he plays a twisted, somewhat defeated and darker version of Lex Luthor(much like I would imagine a person like that would really be).

As for Lois Lane...she just didn't have any attitude, and Lois Lane is ALL attitude. Although she was the 3'rd or 4th Lois Lane I ever saw, I like Terri Hatcher from Lois & Clark the best.(not a casting suggestion, just my opinion)

Maybe we should start a Superman thread, as we have gotten a little off topic on this SM4 thread.

What's Superman got to do with Spider-Man?
