Ugh...a knife went into my heart when I read this. Not becauee of Kino's lack of intetest--after all, they are a business and have to do what makes financial sense. No, it is yet another confirmation that there is so little public interest in animated features, unless they are of the biggest-budget, lowest-of-the-common-demoninators variety.

Arrow's release of Ronin has been OOP for a while.

In any case, 1991 and 1998 definitely now stand out as the years with the most potential for titles previously on Blu. But worth bearing in mind that only one will get the 4K UHD treatment.

And The Thomas Crown Affair is from 1999.

Mmm. Looking a lot like Ronin isn't it? Can't see Kino doing a 4K UHD only of Man in the Iron Mask, Species II seems improbable without them having the first, and Disturbing Behavior is probably unlikely.

If it is Ronin, that does make the other 90s previously-on-Blu title interesting. Thelma and Louise is an obvious one, but surely that would get the 4K UHD treatment?

For me, Leather Jackets and Laws of Gravity stand out among the new-to-Blu candidates.

In fairness and accuracy, the Millcreek set has 4 movies on 2 discs, BD-50. But of course the Kino releases will be an improvement.

Yep! That’s why the post says Amazon is selling it. Took about 2 weeks from the time I placed my order until I had it in hand though. The cost is also far less than what the scalpers are asking for it.

The second part of what you say here comes off as some sort of swipe. It reads like: "If you're the kind of person that accepts 4 movies on one disc then our standalone releases are not for you anyway."

I can appreciate a little attitude every now and then as I give off plenty of attitude myself. It just seems like a strange approach for a salesman to take.

I wasn't trying to throw shade at the label for releasing this standalone release. I've been supportive of Kino with basically every post that I have made.

I actually haven't opened that Mill Creek release, but I thought it was 4 films on two discs... Which isn't ideal still, but opinions on this film seem to be mixed. So I ask questions.

I would say Double features on one disc is accept sometimes depending on the movies, but 4 movies on one disc is not acceptable for post DVD formats.

So thanks for bringing to my attention that the MC release is only 1 disc.

See my post above. It's actually 2 discs. I paid $5 for it from HamiltonBook and was not disappointed.
