Yes, we plan to announce the last two standalone titles this week, most likely tomorrow.

Looking at the options, it would seem to likely be 1 of these 4 films:

My Man Godfrey, directed by Henry Koster and starring June Allyson, David Niven, Martha Hyer, Jessie Royce Landis, and Eva Gabor. (this is the only one of the options previously released on DVD in the U.S.)

Kelly And Me, directed by Robert Z. Leonard and starring Van Johnson, Piper Laurie, and Martha Hyer.

Joe Butterfly, directed by Jesse Hibbs and starring Audie Murphy, George Nader, Keenan Wynn, John Agar, and Burgess Meredith (this seemingly had a U.K. DVD release).

Slim Carter, directed by Richard Bartlett and starring Jock Mahoney and Julie Adams.
It's one of these 4.

Another deal is in the works, but we're not close to signing anything, at least not for another few months. We just wanted to get these announcements out of the way.

The last 5 announcements from the current Universal deal will be Film Noir Volumes XI to XV.

Never say never, it can’t hurt to email them from their website. They replaced a dented Pink Panther Cartoon Collection outer box for me, they held my support case open for more than 6 months until they could return to the office and send me one. It was very nice of them, KL Support is awesome.

Kino Lorber Insider, one MGM title I'd love to see have a UHD 4K release is Forbidden Planet (owned the VHS, Laserdics, DVD, Blu...) and also It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World 4K, which I had kinda hoped you would have released by now (smile).
I know you won't mention specific releases if they're in your pipeline and that makes sense, but do you know if the above two movies have even a chance of 4K release or are there reasons that's very unlikely?

Yes, I noticed it, and I agree with you: it is distracting.

Speaking of things it might not hurt to ask...I don't suppose you kept the dented one? I was one of the proactive fools who bought them all individually as they were released. There was talk of maybe making a slipcase available to buy separately, but I guess nothing came of it. I wouldn't mind a slipcase for them even if it did have a bit of a ding.

Today’s announcements are very welcome! Two must buys for me. And I got specially glad that “Kitty” was mentioned in “Lucky Jordan”’s description. It bolds well for a inclusion in the next Universal deal.

Also hoping that the new deal, when closed, includes more noirs. There are sufficient titles for at least 6 new installments in the Dark Side of Cinema series (through Volume 22). I am specially routing for, at least, three titles that are not part of the present deal: Iron Man (1951), Under the gun (1951) and Forbidden (1951). And that are lots of 40’s and 50’s noir titles that, not making the current deal, may be included in the next.

Is there somewhere else I should be asking these types of quality questions?

Does the foreign disc have these same issues?

Coming to Blu-ray July 12th from Kino Lorber!

Mondocane
Directed by Alessandro Celli

In the not-too-distant future on Italy’s southern coast, the city of Taranto has become a toxic wasteland ruled by warring gangs and surrounded by barbed wire, where best friends Mondocane and Pisspants dream of escaping their hardscrabble existence for a better life. Opportunity knocks when Hothead, the charismatic and dangerous leader of the Ants gang, recruits the two boys and gives them everything they fantasized about. The friendship begins to splinter as Pisspants displays a surprising talent for mayhem and quickly rises through the ranks. With an obsessed cop hounding the gang, and Hothead becoming increasingly unhinged, the boys barrel toward a confrontation that will determine if their bond is strong enough to survive. Recalling everything from Mad Max to Lord of the Flies, director Alessandro Celli’s thrilling feature debut is a stylish post-apocalyptic vision.

Special features:
*The Making of MONDOCANE
*Trailer
*Optional English Subtitles

Also, there’s a thread for the UK release with this comment:

There’s no way that this motion picture was ever presented in the cinema in this manner.

Forbidden Planet, along with all pre-1987 MGM films, belongs to Warner Bros.

Don't know if Kino Lorber has ever released any titles from Screen Media or if Screen Media even licenses to Blu-ray labels but they've uploaded a lot of HD remasters of old made-for-Showtime movies including Moonshine Highway (1996) which i would love to see get a Blu-ray release.

Forbidden Planet is with Warner Brothers.

It's a Mad... with Criterion.

Many of the Universal noirs are not cleared for home video release, Under the Gun is one of them and maybe some of the other you've listed.

Doctor Cyclops (1940)

For a while I was sitting here with a blinking cursor on my phone, because how can I explain this film without completely shitting on it? Well, that's easy, because it's not a bad release at all; howbeit I often wonder if many reviewers know what Three-strip Technicolor is supposed to look like?

Here's an idea. Let's all go out and watch The Wizard of Oz(1939) in UHD and top it off with The Private Lives of Elizabeth and Essex (1939) on standard BD. Now we're getting somewhere!

Of course these films had extensive restorations, while Doctor Cyclops came from a 4K scan of a Technicolor print. It's a damn good print and I often got the feeling (but it's only a guess) that this is what the film probably looked like projected in 1940. We've got bleed from the misalignment of three negatives, and often hue temperature changes in the middle of scenes.

That is to say, it's not like most reviewers describe the PQ, but that doesn't mean it's a turd. It just means that this is probably the best this film will ever look without an extensive restoration. Moreover, I'm thankful that KL would go through the rigors to see this film in print. Nonetheless, it looks about as washed and slightly unstable as I was used to seeing Three-strip Technicolor flicks on tube TVs as a kid.

Of course the image is sharper now. Much, much sharper, which is a vast improvement from watching that ol' Magnavox console unit. Sure, the colors of this BD retains that nostalgic texture of yore, but even with the extra vibrancy inherent in modern color reproduction, I was expecting a bit more saturation. I know, that's my fault, right? Still, reviews are consumer reports, so what's a person to do?

At any rate, the film was a gas, with some cool props to create some well-thought-out illusions, some nice use of opticals (which thankfully weren't scrubbed), and some fair acting; I'm glad that I purchased this in my journey to collect every extant Two and Three-strip Technicolor film that I can. When you think about it, it's a minor miracle that this movie exists at all in 2022. But is it Three-strip Technicolor? Technically, yes, but only marginally so when it hits the screen. I might be hard pressed to watch this one again, but now I'm more concerned with having paid a premium for Jungle Book (1942) out of Germany.

My most wanted Cannon film is Mack the Knife. Released on VHS by Sony, but never available on disc. I have no idea who controls it now.

KL Insider--

When is the best time during the deal making process for fans to suggest (beg for) titles to be included in the new deal? Or should we just shut up and let the acquisitions guy do his thing? Thanks!

Just placed an order for VIOLENT CITy at Diabolik as they had a few in stock and a few minutes later they sold out! Hoping I'll have this by the weekend as I've been waiting a LONG time to have this on Blu-ray.

I'm hoping Kino is able to get into a few more Sergio Sollima films like REVOLVER and RUN,MAN, RUN. Seems like Eureka was able to get the license for REVOLVER in the UK, and it's going to have a new transfer, so it seems ripe for a US release.

Btw, that doesn't link to the actual image; it links to the main image hosting site.
