The Norwegians beat us to it, and did a damned fine job of it, with Cold Prey ("Fritt Vilt” Parts 1, 2 and 3. Top-shelf slasher mayhem in the snow. Isolated vacation lodge setting in the woodsy Norwegian mountains. Lunatic slasher in a creepy snow mask, abused and abandoned and left for dead by his parents decades ago as a small child, etc. Close enough for Government work. Plus they’re beautifully filmed. The second installment even riffs heavily off Halloween 2, where the remaining, injured female victim from Part 1 winds up at a local snowed-in hospital…along with frozen-popsicle slasher dude. Use your imagination from there. Winning!!!!
