Things seem to be tightening up again like after DVD took off. Paramount and Disney/Fox are mostly done licensing, or even renewing, it seems and who knows how things will work out with MGM. At least Paramount has released a steady stream of catalog titles.

For those who don't already have it I highly recommend The Paradine Case. It's a Hitchcock and not likely to get another physical release for a while.

I'm thinking of that one too. Street date is 5/24 but the listing states it could ship several days early. Not all that far off - especially since I wasn't planning on any of these right now.

Just placed my first online order thru Kino. Got 6 Blu-rays of mainly classic movies. Good deal and free shipping.

Just picked up the 'Sacco and Vanzetti' blu-ray, annoying that it includes the censored dub which includes another voice actor mid sentence to remove political content including the word 'anarchist' with 'radical' and soften political speeches towards the end. Sadly it appears to contain dub-titles too.

You'll find an example of the voice actor replaced mid-sentence at 1hr54.20sec But there's plenty more.....reminds me of the Ed Sullivan clip in The Rutles film where he's clearly introducing The Beatles but they've dubbed over the words with The Rutles, not really what you want from a serious political drama!

The old VCI dvd included the correct dub throughout.

*Edit* This appears to be a partially censored dub, the changes occur after the 44min mark i've checked these against the VCI which includes 'anarchist' while the Kino and Italian blu-ray include the word 'radical' prior to this the word anarchist is used on the Kino and Italian blu-ray so i assume this was a botched restoration carried out in Italy and not corrected for this new release. The commentary is very good from Alex Cox but a lot of dead air alas.

Lance just hasn't had enough opportunities to work with directors the caliber of Woo. The guy is a brilliant actor. In the interview in the extras on the standard BD for "Hard Target", Henriksen's eyes light up when he discusses how much freedom to improvise Woo gave him and Vosloo during the filming. Henriksen is definitely one of my favorite modern character actors.

Yeah, I was going back and forth with that one and Year of the Jellyfish. Don't want to miss out on the slip though. Might as well just add it to an order and hope it isn't delayed or too long a wait at this point

We still have a handful of STONE COLD DEAD copies, so it'll be temporarily added back.

We haven't designed them yet. Yes, they will have o-card slipcases.

I guess I better get a move on and grab The Paradine Case and Duel in the Sun while I still can.

I never grabbed Duel in the Sun because truthfully it requires a full-blown restoration to fix a lot of the alignment issues, and it's just a really really old scan. But now I'm thinking it just might not get another release. Hmmm....

No. It's just improved our pre-order numbers.

After our first big KLSC sale in 2019, most of the fans decided to wait for our releases to be offered at deeper discounts before purchasing them, even though most of them would say "day one". The slipcase has forced some of those individuals to purchase titles on or around pre-order date to guarantee themselves the o-card edition.

That new WSL list has so many titles worth picking up, especially the Bava films, The Spiral Staircase, and Hell in the Pacific. Sad to see them all going OOP.

I've treated myself to a WSL double-bill by ordering SINCE YOU WENT AWAY and KILL, BABY...KILL.

One of my favorite Bavas on the WSL list is THE EVIL EYE/THE GIRL WHO KNEW TOO MUCH. I already have it, but I recommend it to fans of Bava and/or early giallo films. Tim Lucas thought that the disc was as good as any other home video release of that particular film.
