Default Minnie Driver My Car...

...in a closet or on the road, as long as we can watch Good Will Hunting, Big Night, Circle of Friends and Gross Pointe Blank after I Knew Her Well.

A thirty second snippet of an interview on a movie that she just really likes?!

My eye sight isn't that great, so I can't tell if she picked up the DVD's or the Blu-rays, but it seems like most of them pick up the DVD when there is a Blu-ray right next to it.

Does Criterion still have the rights to Les Enfants Terribles and/or Le Deuxieme Souffle from Melville? Or did Kino scoop those up too?

What? Don’t be crazy! It’s clear Criterion is heading back into TV and they gonna release every Alan Partridge & Ab Fab!

Forgive my absolutely rudimentary skills of zooming in on my phone, but the sticker on the back release looks grey like a DVD and the others look smaller like Blu’s.

I'm going to assume Big Night is on the way since I recently bought the Umbrella version.

You might be right. I think she picked up the DVD of Local Hero

I just watched it for the first time. No particular reason I waited this long as I’ve heard forever that it’s really good. I’d totally buy it again for a Criterion treatment!

Of his early work, I liked To Joy and Dreams. The "Faith Trilogy" is a must-see, as is Scenes from a Marriage (miniseries), though it's a brutal watch. Persona is probably my favorite Bergman film overall.

Then we just need a Blu upgrade of Mr. Arkadin to have all his released work. I'd also buy a UHD of F for Fake since it has a new 4K restoration. Can't be too out of the question if For All Mankind can get an upgrade.

I would love a 4K of F For Fake. I need an upgrade of Arkadin to be announced soon! I keep almost importing the Blu from France. It sits in my Amazon cart.

Criterion has it here, but I was surprised to find out that Le Deuxième Souffle has not been released on Blu-ray anywhere in the world. Anyone know why? It has a pretty good HD transfer already, so just wondering why this title hasn't been released, even in France.

Hello, I discovered the Criterion "disc rot / bronzing" problem here on this forum by accident, which sent me to examine my Criterion collection. Result, i have one RegA, Sanjuro #53, and an anomaly ? The three Reg1 DVD disc's in the "It's a mad, mad, mad, mad world" #692 appear to be bronze in colour, but the two RegA bluray disc's appear silver-grey. I have to admit it is at least four years since i viewed any of the disc's in this Criterion set. So, my question is, is there a "disc rot/bronzing" problem with Criterion's DVD disc's ?
Thankyou for your time.

Never heard specifically of Bronzing with the DVDs though other issues can affect DVD in generally.

Best idea is to play the discs and see if they're OK. The most common problem appears either right at loading and at the layer change. Skip through the chapters and play 20-30 seconds of each. Usually rotted discs will come to a point it will refuse or stop playing completely

I finally gave in and bought the French blu last month, so they'll probably announce it any day now . . . .

About 40-50 posts back is the list from Criterion.com, but I guess there's some small chance a random disc could go bad. 1 or my 3 wasn't from the listed batch, but Criterion replaced it anyway. I'd suspect if you run across a disc that won't play they'll take care of you
