Got the email announcing the pre-order at 3:24 PM. Order placed at 3:26 PM. So, I don’t think so.

I’m sure 300 is a lot for RSM to sell directly in one day especially considering they make lots of their income from selling their products in other shops. If they’ve sold 1800 products on their site since the site relaunch, which was a year ago, then 300 would be a amazing day for them. That being said, we can only speculate how their order number thing works and what it really means. It might mean nothing at all

On that note, nobody needs to feel bad buying this from Sanity or Amazon because that is still demand and still a sale for RSM. Their webshop is just another way for them to make money, their multipacks are sold in loads of places for example.

I think a huge chunk of RSM’s sales are acquired via Amazon, which is why we’ve seen their releases pop up on at least three international Amazon stores (US, Canada, UK). This will likely sell hundreds/thousands of additional copies once it is on Amazon with Prime shipping.

Why all the doom and gloom? This will almost certainly be available to order on Amazon UK shortly after its release in July or August. Pretty sure Dolittle, Jumanji, and Hotel Transylvania 3 are all available on Amazon UK, so there’s no reason to think this won’t be. If for some reason it’s not, I’m sure a member here would be happy to send you a copy.
I’m in a doom and gloom mood !, I had noticed those others were on Amazon uk, £35 a pop though. I suppose at these prices it’s not the end of the world as releases are few and far between.

When did you order Dolittle and Boss Baby 2? And what country are you from?

For the sake of my math, I'm going to assume you were the first to place an order for NWH.

I ordered Dolittle from RSM.com on March 4. My order # was 1568, and I'm in the US.

If the order numbers are cumulative and not affected by country of origin, that means RSM.com had 56 orders between March 4 and today @ 3:26pm when Ryanmcy placed his order for NWH.

This is the latest recorded order number. So RSM.com has sold at least 320 orders today. Which is nearly 6 times the amount of orders they sold in the last 67 days combined.

Whether or not these are good numbers for any given Blu-ray vendor, these are great numbers for RSM.com.

Even if they sell 5,000 copies (which would be a record) that is only $150,000….Sony’s cut would be less than $100k, not to mention the money spent to author the theatrical presentation onto a 3D Bluray standard…add it up…someone has to give Sony (and any other studios making 3D blurays) some credit for keeping 3D alive because it is clear to me the studios aren’t really doing this for the money…it’s basically a labor of love and appreciation for the 3D fans out there…

RSM wouldn’t be in the game if they didn’t make money. I really don’t think it’s worth making assumptions about their sales based on order numbers we don’t fully know the meaning of. It might be that 90% of their sales come from selling to other merchants or reselling on foreign Amazon sites, but regardless, I’m sure they make a profit. I remember them saying they were very happy with the response to their first 3D release, Jumanji Next Level. This one will sell far better than that. Perhaps they have a deal with the studio where they give a percentage of each sale to Sony rather than having to pay a huge flat fee for example, but I’m sure they’re doing well off this or they would probably charge more knowing we would pay it.

Was very surprised to receive that email from RSM. That said, I’m going to be nervous until Sanity or another retailer that ships to the UK has it available for (pre)order.

I preordered jumanji-next level from them and they delivered to the UK. Everything else I've had to buy from sanity. Spoke to Connor from RSM and they are trying to sort this out for future releases.

You know, one thing I've been wondering about ever since the news about this dropped is just how many orders they might actually receive from Japan. With Australia being the only country to release this but all other recent Marvel releases coming exclusively from Japan as of late, it would be interesting to see the import numbers coming from them. One would think that they are a prime market for this kind of release if Disney/Marvel feel it's been worthwhile to keep giving them discs all this time while shutting out the rest of the world unless you are willing to import (or buy from Amazon which is still technically buying an import). But I also realize that this disc would not likely be language-friendly for them either unless RSM dropped a Japanese subtitle track on there, which might not be a bad idea. It just might be something to consider in order to tap into another potential country where ordering could be significant.

Very happy. Does Random Space charge at time of shipment or when order is placed?
