There were seperate HD and SD versions available for download. It's a 187MB for the HD download (90MB SD available as well) and is 6 minutes long. This was pretty much my first experience with actually using BD Live for anything so I'm not really familiar with downloadable HD content and if it's comparable to the true 1080p content that is on the BD. My first thoughts would be the trailer looked OK at best and the facial closeups seemed waxy and lacked detail, like DNR'd. Again, someone else needs to look at it, because I'm not sure if this file is equivalent to real BD hi-def content. It's basically a big trailer for the Trilogy and doesn't mention anything specific for Blu-ray until the final shot that says "Coming Soon To Blu-Ray." If anyone actually thinks it will look that bad when the BLU is released i don't know what. Because of course it will look amazing. Peter Jackson is helming the transfer and look how good King Kong looks
![]() I still think they actually should have put the trailer in HD on the BLU itself. I have always thought BD-Live is VERY overrated the studios should try and fiocus more on PiP content it is way cooler and some other new stuff instead of BD-Live |

Ok Thanks.
I download the 6 minutes HD 720 P trailer for the LOTR Trilogy on Blu-Ray with the BD-Live section from The Watchmen BD. The HD image is only in 720P (just better than the DVD version) and there's not indication except at the end : "For the first time on Blu-ray : The Lord Of the Rings Trilogy coming soon". It's a long trailer for the 3 movies in a just good HD quality, no 1080P picture... As for the sound it daesn't sound great. Why don't we have at the first place the extended editions -for me the best versions of the movies ? As for King Kong, the Blu-ray sould use the streamling branchless system to present the 2 versions on one BD Disc. Why do we always have to Buy theatre versions than 6 months after the extended or director's cuts ? To make more money. ![]() Last edited by Darth Fredius; 06-16-2009 at 05:15 PM. |
