I mean, even before all of the horrible things about Weinstein came out, he was still a notorious bully as a producer who’d often push directors around and recut movies without releasing the originals.

So he acted pretty much like every producer.

The version with the soundtrack discs and books was the limited edition which is probably getting hard and expensive to find. The title on that is in green.
The standard version with just the movie discs and no books should be readily available with the title in red.

Me and a few others did some research into the different title colors, because most posters are either red or green too. Found the early theater one sheets had the green, later had the red, and thought it was a nice touch the disc sets followed that.

Yeah, I knew the difference between the limited and the standard, but the standard is showing up as out of stock in a lot of places, hence my panic. Was the color scheme on the Anchor Bay dvd and blu ever an actual thing besides for those releases? I got so used to it over the years that the limited edition UHD art looked super-strange to me...

Anchor Bay just made up their own colors starting with the first dvd which had the gold foil logo. Then they got cheap and went yellow on dvd re-issue and blu-ray. Never seen that color scheme for anything but their releases.
I also noted the standard was OOS at Diabolik, but I wouldn't panic. No way it's OOP yet, more will show up soon enough.

Probably just between pressings at the moment. Second Sight hasn't said anything about it actually going OOP or them losing the license, so I wouldn't worry just yet.

They could sell hundreds of copies at the annual Living Dead Convention held in the
shopping mall where Dawn of the Dead was filmed. All things Romero are celebrated:

Hopefully you're correct. I held off on getting some stuff I wanted and now that I was ready to get the US copy its not available. If there's another pressing I won't hesitate this time.

If you live near Novi, Motor City Nightmares horror convention is having Savini and several cast members as guests.

I wonder if Richard P. Rubenstein will be there? I'd love to throw some cabbage at him for holding this film for ransom in the US.

Is Rubenstein still holding the rights because he spent all this money on a stupid 3d conversion and is fully convinced he's going to do a big theatrical 3D run of Dawn?

People shouldn't have to buy another countries release to get one of the most popular horror movies ever. Not that I'm against importing because I do have imports. Just saying.

I consider it to be the best and most important horror film ever. If you're in the US you can't watch it via any streaming service or own it on disc without either importing, or buying OOP releases. Pretty insane.

He's probably waiting for Avatar 2 to bring back 3D....

He should try teaming up with Fanthom Events for a standard 2D screening/rerelease in October.

At this point he should try anything. Get the movie out to the general public in some way.

It used to be my favorite horror movie as a kid, but I have to take it down a half a star now due to the more comedic stuff at the end. It's still great. Should be available worldwide.

Horrific makeup and the already non-threatening zombies being turned into a joke by the bikers make it the weakest of the original trilogy for me.

I need to revisit though, last saw it a lifetime ago.

I agree that they shouldn't have to, but I'm sure glad I did. The Second Sight release is superlative. Bar none, the best piece of physical media I have ever owned. Just ****ing perfect.

Not me.

Day is the weakest of the three... Outside of some good gore I can't think of many main highlights... The location isn't great, the characters are overbearing and annoying. It just isn't very entertaining outside of a few scenes... Which mainly revolve around the gore.
