Will pre-order that SACD of Thriller for sure, but I've long disagreed with the SA-CD reviews or anyone else citing a lack of bass - it has excellent low end on my system straight DSD > pure direct 2.0

You can get the existing Sony SACD mastering from any of the high rez download sites offering Thriller as DSD.

Yeah, not sure as I've never heard it for myself...just figured I'd provide it here for reference.

I need to seek that out on Qobuz...once I dial that platform up, I tend to go down other rabbit holes that haven't included MJ's material.

Mine's on the way. I listened to the high-res version on Qobuz last night and unfortunately wasn't overly impressed, so hoping MoFi did a better a job with their iteration although not sure how much an outfit can tinker with something that seems inherent to the original master recording.

First of all, she was sued over a bootleg, not a CD-R copy.

Here's the rest of the facts. Eric had very little to do with the lawsuit. It was his team. The lady was sent a cease and desist letter that she ignored. Finally, when it was discovered that she only had one copy, they dropped everything and chose not to collect the money they had legally been rewarded. They initially thought that she was manufacturing bootlegs and selling them.

Stereo, unlike the previous Sony pressings from years ago. Not sure MoFi has ever put out a 5.1 disc.

Doubtful, but you may try eBay for maybe an older Oppo player, but even then, not sure $120 will even get you halfway to one.

Can't some DVD players decode SACD? I know it's probably not the best solution but I'm just starting.
