Default Recording HD games

What is the best way to record HD games onto dvd or blu ray. Football season is coming and I want to start archiving games like I had seen in the past with people doing in with vhs. So any recomendations on dvd recorders for those who have done this practice recording HD tv?

I have a Toshiba DVD recorder. They are around $120 at Best Buy. I have been recording HD movies via an HDMI upconverted Toshiba DVD recorder. I have red, green, blue from DirecTV box into video in on recorder (the HDMI out goes directly to TV). Then HDMI out of the DVD recorder into the 2nd HDMI input in the TV. I live in AZ and recently made DVD's of the Cards/Eagles NFC title game and the Super Bowl I think it records in 480p but the playing of the DVD in that recorder, or your bluray player cleans up the DVD recording pretty nicely.

As far as bluray recorders, I haven't researched that much. I would imagine if there are any available, they are pricey.

I hope this helps!

Not if you want to buy them locally in an actual store (yes, they still exist ). If you happen to go searching online, then, yes, many are just as available as all the other products in this amazing wide world

Of course, one could always go the HTPC with BD-burner route and enjoy all the recording you want.

Alternative number three would be to buy a BD-streamer with internal or external harddisks like the HDI Dune Center, or HDI Dune BD-prime respectively and do your recording/archiving on HDD's; just a thought.

Then again, none of these alternatives are really cheap, mind you (with the latter one the cheapest, I think); another $0.02 spent.
