I'd really like to see Death Wish on UHD.
Or at least a new 4k scan.
An obvious high sales opportunity.

Just checking in to make sure. I know most of the transfers were solid but there were a few not so great ones so when I read Kino may do new transfers for some, I was curious if some of those would be recently released titles. Definitely looking forward to some Paramount love!

Burton’s Sleepy Hollow is Paramount right? Would love that in 4K!

Kino Insider - Can you say if you've picked up any titles previously released only as BD-R's by Paramount? As you'll be aware, in most instances for these MOD titles it was a case of Amazon selling BD-R versions and most other outlets offering pressed discs - which is fine - but there were a handful that only got BD-R's across the board, and it's these I'm referring to with this question (there's one particular film I'm hoping for).

This thread is ALL about the guessing game.

And the soft announcements before press releases are announced. Most people would lose interest if you dumped all 65 titles on them at once!

Why are people posting ten pages of wish lists for a deal that's already been struck? The films have been negotiated, so asking for titles now is too late.

Okay, I'll ask two questions:

Any 3D titles?

Any serials?

(I probably know the answer to the second question, but I figured I'd ask anyhow)

Good chance for Boyhood as well.

Although that had a very good bluray by Criterion.

BarnDoor,

Was The Molly Maguires one that only got a BD-R? Not trying to figure out what title you're referring to, but just if there are pressed copies out there I can switch my BD-R to.

If Kino gives us Black Rain on UHD and the original Hawaii Five-0 on blu-ray, I'll die a happy man.

There's a big list of possibilities for the Paramount 4k UHD releases. Below is a big list but isn't comprehensive by any means. Some of them, such as 48 hrs, Another 48 hrs & Breakdown would be very unlikely just because Paramount recently released them on Blu-ray themselves.

World War Z
Saturday Night Fever
True Grit (2010)
No Country for Old Men
There Will Be Blood
The Italian Job (2003)
Payback
48 hrs
Another 48 hrs
Black Rain
An Officer and a Gentleman
We Were Soldiers
The Fighter
The Score
Terms of Endearment
Shaft (2000)
Enemy at the Gates
Harlem Nights
Footloose
Airplane!
Ferris Bueller's Day Off
Witness
Zoolander
Kiss the Girls
Scrooged
American Gigolo
Breakdown
Planes, Trains & Automobiles
Escape from Alcatraz
The Bad News Bears (1976)
3 Days of the Condor
Paint Your Wagon
White Christmas
Marathon Man
Serpico
Mommie Dearest
Chinatown
The Warriors
Death Wish
Atlantic City
Breakfast at Tiffany's
Once Upon a Time in the West
The Conversation
Metropolis

Lots of good potential Paramount releases -- i'll second calls for uhd's of Witness, Chinatown and Death Wish. And, as one of the above posters stated, any new to the collection 3d releases? I believe i have all that Kino has already released.

I don't think it's asking for titles; it's just people getting excited by this news and expressing that excitement in titles they hope may be included in the deal. No harm, no foul. I think just the fact that Kino closed another giant deal with Paramount has made us all giddy, as we know Kino selects some big winners and also takes on great titles from the deep catalog. Regardless, the more Paramount titles out there, even if some we want aren't in this deal, is all good. Makes a next deal even better for all of us.

I forgot one, someone mentioned it above, but I hope to see "The Adventurers" (1970) see a Blu one day! Disastrous bomb, 3 hours long, based on a Harold Robbins book, sort of a cult fan-base now but most people even cult film fans don't even know of it, filmed in beautiful scope with talent across the board in every department, and featuring Candice Bergin, Ernest Borgnine, Charles Aznavour, Rossano Brazzi, Olivia de Havilland, John Ireland, Fernando Rey, Peter Graves, Jaclyn Smith, and finally, STARRING a Yugoslavian sex symbol superstar of the time named Bekim Fehmiu, in this giant US film that would make him a huge star stateside (that didn't happen). It's a giant epic, with some hilarious scenes especially the one with
[Show spoiler]pregnant Bergin's character being pushed on a swing set and accidentally flies off of it. I can't remember if she 'loses the baby', but probably!
Fehmiu was a very good looking guy, but very wooden as an actor, and his US career failed. But look at this one shot of him in his trunks hugging his good friend in the film Borgnine, and then he jumps on Borgnine's back to ride him! Doesn't get any better than that!

Fehmiu did another film the same year that ended up at Paramount, they released it on VHS in the US as "THE DESERTER" (in a cheap EP-mode P&S transfer), but I guess known as "The Devil's Backbone" normally. It's a western, and shows off Fehmiu sans clothes again, but has a nice cast including Richard Crenna, Chuck Connors, Ricardo Montalban, Ian Bannen, John Huston, Albert Salmi, and Patrick Wayne. Absolutely no one has probably even heard of this one, so I doubt Kino would ever even pick it, but maybe someday..... It was also 1970.

Fehmiu left Hollywood and continued his career back home, etc. and eventually committed suicide by gunshot years later. Even good looking guys with big success, maybe not Hollywood success, can still suffer from demons, I guess. Sad.

PS - I do NOT expect The Deserter to be a part of Kino's deal, but if "The Adventurers" slipped in this time, that would be great. If anything, it's a visual enough film that would benefit greatly from HD over the old DVD.
