Why do we think Looking for Mr. Goodbar is already ruled out? Just because of the music issues? Perhaps that’s something KINO could work some magic on…never say never.

Are any of today's Imprint announcements part of your Paramount deal? I'm kinda hesitant to spend $50 per title to import if they'll just be released here anyway.

The Warriors UHD??
I think these are all possible and really hoping for Black Sunday. For me looking at all the Paramount titles Imprint has released, I'd say Detective Story and Desperate Hours have the highest probability of getting the Kino treatment. I just hope Kino and Paramount continue to work with each other for the foreseeable future. At the rate things are going we could have most of the missing Paramount titles within a couple of years.

You must be new here.

Seriously, the speculation about new deals are some of the most fun discussions in this thread - especially when the KLI joins in

I know it's an MGM title and apologies if previously mentioned but i would love a uhd release of A Bridge Too Far. The old blu ray is servicable, but a new release with perhaps some new WW2 docs would be a day one purchase from me.

In terms of Paramount titles...

Kirk Douglas films not on Blu in the US and not ruled out:

The Strange Love of Martha Ivers (1946) - Film Chest did a blu from whatever elements they had on hand, but there isn't one from the superior Paramount materials

Detective Story (1951)

Is Paris Burning? (1966)
The Brotherhood (1968)

A Gunfight (1971)
The Master Touch (1972)
Scalawag (1973)
Posse (1975)

The only one that IS out on Blu that I could possibly see them upgrade to UHD is perhaps Gunfight at the O.K. Corral (1957)

Charles Bronson films not on Blu in the US (from the post-Buchinsky era) and not ruled out:

Gang War (1958)
When Hell Broke Loose (1958)

This Property is Condemned (1966)

Though I could also easily see KLSC interested in UHDs of

Once Upon a Time in the West (1968)

Death Wish
(1974)

Any animation? I know it’s a long shot but I might as well ask.

Coming from Imprint in August. It's definitely a possibility.

Question regarding the MGM deal, can KLSC say if they will be re-releasing any titles they had previously that went out of print?

Kino's deal with Paramount is Fabulous News! Hopefully some long anticipated titles will soon see a US Blu-ray release:

Fancy Pants
Casanova's Big Night
When Worlds Collide
Conquest of Space
Secrets of the Incas
Dragonslayer
Young Sherlock Holmes
The Naked Jungle
Will Penny

Any reason Face/Off or Snake Eyes would be out of contention for KLSC UHD?

I don't think Targets will be in this deal. That's because BFI in the UK had planned to release it back in March 2021. Then the release date was pushed back to June 2022. And now BFI has just announced that it's been cancelled.

They say "Targets is being suspended do to on-going issues regarding the materials required for the release."

So if they are having problems, I doubt we'll see it come from Kino anytime soon.

Completely forgot about A Gunfight. That would be amazing news! Also The Master Touch, as I didn't know that was a Paramount film. That would be incredible.

Now, the question is when we will starting hearing about some of the titles...this Saturday or Sunday hopefully.

Face/Off needs a new release without the DNR.

Is it common for Kino to sign a major deal like this and then start announcing releases 2 to 3 days later?

Yes. It's happened numerous time. Universal, Studio Canal, MGM, Sony, etc. Once they announce a deal here they usually start announcing the titles that very weekend.
