OK, after reading again I think I have it. OP would prefer to have an entirely new TV but Panasonic prefers to repair the set by replacing the panel.
I certainly can't blame you! That would bug me as well. Based on the prices of those replacement panels posted it sure doesn't seem cost effective to furnish the panel and pay a tech to replace it. You would think they would just eat it and give you a new set. No idea about the longevity going forward. I would hope that if done correctly that it would be like new again. I would just watch it like a hawk and go over it with a fine tooth after it is replaced. If it isn't 100% like new I would turn up the noise on Panasonic. Hope everything works out! I certainly feel your pain! |
