They're gonna last about 1 minute, so I doubt there will be more advance info.

Yeah, those covers alone would drive me insane especially The Bronx Tale. All previous transfers of the Bronx Tale in HD have been horrible, so lets if this "rumored" remaster happens or not.

Remasters are great, when they actually materialize. You can't beat these prices though. These and many imports have reversible covers, without the tags, so you just flip them around. For me, I just want the content. Lots of things come in an ugly package, but it would never stop me from enjoying the thing itself.

I appreciate your comments. You may very well be correct about what are the best episodes. What we need and what we can get are sometimes two different things. I was concentrating on what would sell for Kino and might be fun. I've not seen any of them and, as I said, I'm not an expert here. My apologies if the Insider has already addressed this.

I hope the Criterion Bronx Tale rumor pans out. It's a crime the film has only had a mediocre Euro HD release to date.

For me, it's more of an OCD thing. I have a few imports for a few critical favorites, but it still bugs me when those rating logos are on the box or on the disc.

Not to get off track, but I can't stand them either. Was so happy when Universal released the 30 movie monsters set and 4Ks. I sold off my imported Universal Monsters set (8 movies?) with coffin. The disc made me want to vomit looking at them, lol. Definitely OCD and one reason I import very few. To stay on topic of Kino, my A Fistful of Dollars and For A Few Dollars more 4Ks are shipping. Excited.

A lot of the German releases have reversible covers, where the rating logo is omitted on the other side.

What about on the front of the disc? Bugs the hell out of me as well.

Yes, you might see it on the front of the disc for the 5 seconds it takes to put it in your player. That'd be sad if that was the deal breaker for you.

No Escape/Escape from Absolom is with one of it's Australian or UK producers (who Umbrella licenced their BD from).

TriBeCa Productions acquired US distribution rights to A Bronx Tale from Universal. They wanted a high asking price and a label (believed to be Criterion) supposedly met their ransom price and were working on a new restoration.

Lightning Jack was produced by Village Roadshow (with VS releasing it in Australia, Savoy in the US, and Buena Vista overseas). US rights are now believed to be with Warner distributing for Village Roadshow (Warner are VS's main distribution and production partner).

All the Rysher productions that Savoy distributed (which includes Three Wishes, Exit to Eden, White Man's Burden, ect.) are with Paramount (they own the Spelling Entertainment unit that purchased Rysher).

I know for a fact Universal controls Steal Big, Steal Little and The Walking Dead (1996) as there were HD streams with a Focus Features logo attached.
I’m surprised Universal let go of a large portion of the Savoy library, I thought they acquired it outright. Especially A Bronx Tale which happens to be the largest title there, I never thought Universal would lose that.

And to get back to Charlotte’s Web, (not that I want to, I’m just interested in complicated rights situations) so the Astral VHS was just a Paramount license? I’d never have guessed Paramount licensed VHS titles in Canada.

I have had my German UHD of Perfume for years, and I literally just checked to see if the cover was double-sided. It is.

My shelf is 0.3% prettier now. Thanks.

Not sad for me, but an actual relief to not have to buy it. Part of a disability and that'd be sad if that's something you weren't willing to try and understand.

I'm trying to understand, but I've ever heard of a ratings tag disability. I hope it can be overcome so you can just enjoy the movies.

You never heard of OCD? Well, I guess I can provide you with a link so you can better understand what it is.

https://iocdf.org/about-ocd/

Hopefully after you read this, you'll be more tolerant and understanding of the condition.

Of course I've heard of OCD. Never heard it applied to a ratings label. What else triggers it? Parental Advisory on CDs? MPAA ratings? How do you avoid it for US releases?

Doesn't sound like you understand it, which is why I provided you with a link. It can be triggered by countless things that someone finds "imperfect". Example here is international rating logos. Seriously, read the link I provided you with, as it will probably help you a lot in understanding it and you won't have to post an international release every time someone wants a film in the US, but not from abroad.

I'd already read about OCD, before you even replied with the link, but I read that as well. My intent was to be helpful to people looking for a release they've never seen on BD before, just like anyone else would share. It happens every day here. As I said, I hope you can find a way to enjoy them too, since tags come in many forms, even on US releases.

The US ratings don't bother me, because they are small and not intrusive. Plus, I like things to be as uniform as possible. I try my best to avoid things that trigger my OCD and some days are better than others, but as mentioned before, the international logos always set it off. I know of plenty of international releases of movies I want, but I don't want them enough to purchase them. If I want to just enjoy the movie that doesn't have an US release, I'll just watch it online or DVD, but will always prefer Blu-rays.
