I'd go with an ipod. Just got the new touch. It's sweet. I have verizon, so it's nice because I don't have an iphone...

but if you have at&t, pick up a hundred dollar iphone and save yourself some money...

When an iPod and computer are set to sync, the ratings will be updated back and forth. So if you change some ratings while listening to your iPod, the ratings on the computer will reflect that, and the same for if you change ratings on your computer, and plug your iPod back in.

When not synced, songs with ratings on a computer will keep their ratings when moved to an iPod, but obviously not update any changes you make on either.
