Ipod or zune? Suggestions please - Blu-ray Forum

Alright, it's time for me to get a new mp3 player, and being a brand name *****, I want either an Ipod touch or a zune. I did a quick search, and couldn't find what I was looking for, so if I missed it, please let me know. I honestly can't decide because there's features I like about both. Is there any flaws I should know about either of them, is one more buggy than the other (I already know about the date problem the Zune had on New Years)? I'm looking at an Itouch because of the obvious touch features, games, and apps. However, the 16/32gb size limits aren't were I'd like them to be, wich is why I'm considering a zune. I also hear the zune pass thing is cool, can someone explain that to me, is it unlimited songs?

The models I'm considering are the 16gb gen. 2 Ipod touch or a 120gb Zune, probably the Gears of War special edition.

Please don't turn this into a flame war guys, I just need suggestions, and general info to help me decide. Thanks.

ipod touch. but take my opinion w/ a grain of salt. i don't own either.

but in the next week or so i'm gonna be buying me an Ipod touch.

i had an ipod the hard drive died on me 3x. lost my music after the last time. a girl here @ work has a zune and loves it.

if space doesn't matter, the touch is a much better overall pick.

you need to compare the zune and the classic. the touch's only competitor is probably the archos 5 and the like.

that said..the zune is better than the classic

Does anyone know if the Zune uses a mini hdd like certain past models of past Ipods have used, or is it a flash memory?

its a hard drive, not flash

Alright, I think that solves that for me. Since I'll be using it for jogging, no matter how impact resistant it is, it doesn't seem like a good idea

if its primarily for jogging, i wouldn't even bother with apple. get a small sony player or something

Well not primarily. I'll be using it for road trips with the gf, and the web surfing function seems like something I might be able to use quite a bit

Considering iTunes has dropped the DRM on their songs, I can wholeheartedly recommend you getting an iPod (preferrably an iTouch).

i pod touch blows the zune out of the water for what it can do. I LOVE THE CRAP out of my ipod touch. I have a ton of games/movies on it, it's worth every penny i paid for it.

If you're using it in the car, you'll have a lot more options with the iPod for in-car integration so that you can control the iPod through the radio. I don't think the Zune has any support for this and still has to be used via FM transmitter or regular stereo output. Pain in the ass, and not as good for sound quality.

The new version of all the iPods were just released a few months ago, so I think you've got awhile before anything new comes out.
