How much is it on clearance for?

May I ask why some of y'all do store pickup for items that you can go into the store and find the best condition possible for yourself?

I personally do it because my store is notoriously bad about having stock in the back room rather than on the floor. I'd rather not walk up and down the 1 1/2 sections of movies only to have to find an employee and get them to go to the back and find a copy. It's the same result I just save some time.

It can be easier to do pick up when there's an online only sale offer. I don't care about slipcovers and have never picked up a case with damage. Living that carefree movie life lets me spend my time doing other things too.

Sometimes stock is limited and I worry about being able to pick it up in time. So, I’ll often reserve something just in case.

My back is bad and sometimes the scooters are all in use. If I know what I want, it makes it easier on me to do Drive Up and have the staff load it in my car.

In addition to some of the other reasons -- Target's inventory in-stock is notoriously inaccurate and often lists things as there which aren't (not just in the back, but not there at all).

Unless you are going to be there anyway, driving to the store (25 miles one way for me for the closest and 45 for #2/3/4) relying on the website or brickseek being correct, I've used the ISPU option to week out the missing stuff before going. I've had this happen with both Media and other short stocked items and had over a 50% cancel rate of orders that turned out to be OOS - and this was with $2.50 gasoline

I confirmed this many times that Brickseek has different data from Target online data. Not only that, I'm told by several Target stores that the online data is also different from the store inventory data they obtain from the handheld device they have. The most accurate is the latter.

For example, if you go to target.com and they are showing a list of store that have limited quantities, if you go to the store, their handheld device will give you a different list of store that may have 1 or 2. The latter has a very high probability of in-stock. The best way to do this is to call and ask a store to check inventory and a list of stores that have them. Then you call each of those store to make sure they have it in stock. Ask them if they can hold it for you at the guest service. I've scored quite at least 5 different items that were the last ones in the DMV area, Hot Wheel Mario Car Rainbow set and the last copy of Spider-Man No Way Home Target exclusive 4K Blu-ray.

Don't act better than us because we're not lazy and can walk to the back and get our own slipcovers lmao that literally takes 5 extra minutes max.

Did you not read the part about him not caring about slipcovers?

Not everyone does.

I don't.

I'm also in the "I don't care about slipcovers" camp.

If a movie comes with one, sure, I'll take it and even look for the best one.

Otherwise, ehhh.

Which is funny/sad considering Target corporate likes to drive home the point to vendors/merchandisers about how flawless their inventory system is.

You asked, I answered. Sorry if slipcovers are so triggering for you, but for the majority of people in the world it doesn't factor into their purchase. I just watch movies. If you read that as my life being "better" for it, you're welcome to join too.

I wonder how much longer the Studios will include:

1. Slipcovers

2. Digital Copies [many packages are starting to remove Digital Copy from artwork underneath the slipcover]

3. DVD in Combo Packs [starting to be eliminated]

4. Bluray in Combo Packs [starting to be eliminated]

I don't care about any of those - especially if the absence of them can keep the cost down.

I have a feeling we'll find out that it won't...

It's not like Walmart takes off $2 when their exclusive No Way Home 4K doesn't have slips any more

The only thing of any value is digital copies and even then I'm sure some users here would disagree. Combo packs are useless because who ever uses the DVD, slipcovers are unnecessary, etc.

Paramount dropped the Blu-ray and still charges the same price for 4K. Their catalog BD releases without digital copies and DVDs also still have the same SRP as a regular “bargain” Blu-ray.

It'll keep their cost down, but not ours.

I suspect as "some costs" go up, companies will use the cloak of additional costs to layer in additional profits as well. If I knew X price increase meant an increase in employees pay, I'd be happy to pay the extra...but just like tax breaks with the idea corporations expand and increase hiring etc...the savings goes to stock buy backs and executive compensation.
