You know its been a really slow year for movies and shows I'm interested in this year.

going though the releases this year

rugrats trilogy
no way home
chip and dale
the batman
kekkaishi
digimon
clockstoppers
the kings man
The bad guys
a couple reprints

That's a really small list for being 6 months into the year. Also a fair number of those are really low priory in terms of interest.

The last couple of years I had pretty long lists of things I wanted but this year my list is short and I haven't bought any of it yet.

BJ's Wholesale Club That Vudu that I do

I got a notice of a new device activation from Vudu that I didn't expect.

I do share my Vudu account with my step dad. And, I don't actually use Vudu much myself because I tend to favor Apple and iTunes.

So, I had a look and my Vudu account is activated on 156 devices.

Wow. I guess a bunch of stuff has come and gone without me really noticing.

I actually really don't give a damn about Vudu but I guess I'll deactivate all of them and slowly re activate the ones that still exist.

If you use Vudu, the limit to devices seems large.

Started Obi Wan on Disney+ via the ATV4K (2021), highlighted Skip Intro then pressed OK but nothing happened, same for ≫|. So I tried again on the Nvidia Shield Pro (2019) and it worked as expected.

Not sure when Disney and/or Nvidia fixed it but now I get Dolby Atmos for Disney+. No Atmos on Disney+ via the Shield was one reason to procure the Apple.

Apple really does need to fix the Developer HUD on the ATV4K. It continuously disappears and can be a PITA to get back. Go to Xcode and will get "This version of Xcode not compatible with osTV XX". Try to install the latest Xcode and get "This version of Xcode not compatible with Mac OS XX".

Hi Brian thanks for this information, I went to my Vudu Account and Manage Devices also found over a hundred Devices. My Sony TV and Panasonic Blu-ray Player were there, but I also Deactivated everything. Then I Activated only my Sony and TCL 4K TV's and labeled them. Now I'll watch and see if it stays this way, but I did contact Support. So let's see what they say, I didn't get any emails of Activations. Again Thanks Brian

So just in time for the Summer heat of 2022, HULU is releasing "Prey" via the streaming service August 5. Being Hulu it will be in HDR / 5.1. I assume for folks overseas, it will be on Disney+, which may or may not have Atmos.

I think the film looks terrific. I loved 10 Cloverfield Lane, as well.

Speaking of heat I will be real curious to see what they have done with the Atmos track for the UHD BD release of Heat. Already have it on BD.

I'm definitely getting that 4K disc. I also have the most recent BD version that was released a couple of years ago.

I don't usually pay the premium for Steelbooks but the one for Heat is gorgeous. I pre-ordered it from BB.

What up gang. How fairs everyone? It’s been forever. Started a new job, having relationship issues, and haven’t had the energy to watch or play much lately. Which stinks, since I have Paramount+ for another week or so. I’m a big Halo fan, so I want to try and watch the series before I cancel my free month. I can’t remember the last disc I bought, maybe Wonder Woman 84 steelbook? Right now I’m just trying to work out my bills and what I can afford if I move out. I plan on staying in the area for my job regardless.

Several changes and upgrades. gotmule and Brian procured new JVC laser projectors, UHD BD players and AVP for gotmule. I'm waiting to see what the new Sony laser projectors offers. I have migrated from spinning disc to spinning disk with a Zappiti NAS with 98TB of space. Also procured a Zappiti Neo and Zidoo Z9X media players. Also added a Nvidia Shield Pro and Apple TV4K to the rack for streaming. Others here have had some upgrades in hardware.

Cool, hopefully all is well with Vilya. He and I would communicate via pm in my absence from the forum. I so want to upgrade both my Xbox One and finally pick up a 4K player. I’m kind of kicking myself for not doing it when I was making more money in my last job. Once I do that I think I’m going to eventually get either a soundbar or AV set up. So I’m sure I’ll pick everyone’s brains when the time comes.

Anyone else viewed Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore? Last night we viewed via HBO Max and the ATV4K*. IMHO, the visual aspect of the movie was fair to good. A little on the dark side with subdued colors. The sound track: 2.5 of 5. Music was at back ground levels, had about 3 uses of Atmos and very little use of LFE.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them remains a goto disc for visual and auditory stimulus. The Crimes of Grindelwald is just passable.

*Tried first on the Nvidia Shield Pro, showed as Atmos but only played in DD+. Streaming apps and hardware remain a CF in that you never know what to expect.

That ZAPPITI looks like a nice piece of kit! I see that they have a store front here in Toronto so I may have to check it out. Although at that price point it would be purely an academic exercise at this time LOL.

I'll be receiving my ZIDOO Z9X today or tomorrow as the inlaws fit in from Florida late last night. Depending on how it handles my collection, I'll probably be building a poor man's NAS similar to this..

If nothing else, it'll be a fun project for my son and I to do together..

Looks like a lot of Disc Drives with too much heat, wouldn't a SSD be much better. More compact, faster, and better heat control? I guess it might cost more.
