I was wondering if the newer models have this issue as well ? The TV is going on 3 years in Jan, I just cant figure out why it never happened and all the sudden just started . It doesn't seem to happen on black and white movies like 1931 Dracula 4K , just on color movies
The issue is only occurring when playing movies? What player are you using?

During movie playback , not hooked up to cable . I have a Sony x800m2 and an apple tv . When streaming from the Apple tv it is way more noticeable , the player not so much . Tried it with a hard copy of a movie and also streamed the same movie and both do it . It just started a few days ago . The player wasn't updated in awhile but the apple tv was updated to 15 like a week ago . Just odd that it just started doing this out of nowhere . Any thoughts would be appreciated . Can priv message so it doesnt clog the thread up if you like .

Default First LG OLED Purchase

Hey Everyone-
Just wanted to check on this deal I got and if it was good or super OMG good. I walked into Targets tv section and they had a 65inch LG CX oled brand new in box not opened for $960.00, I asked and it has been in the back for a ship to store pickup that was never picked up. They had it for $1,380.00 for about 2 weeks but no one bought it. The day I saw it they just dropped the price to $960.00 to move it. I got it home and it has been great my first oled ever. I have a red card and with the 5% discount and sales tax in MN I was out the door for $981.00.

That's an insane price. Lowest I've seen it go for is $1,500.

Is it true that the C1/G1 have an HBO Max app and the CX/GX don't? Something I read online..

App wasn't available for awhile, but you can now download the app on the CX.

If you had to pick only one, and they were the same price, which would you choose and why?

77" C1
77" GX

Good ^ question and tough choice! Here's some of differences between LG's C1 and the GX Gallery Series OLED TVs:

77C1 advantages over the 77GX:
- LG's new a9 Gen 4 processor is a moderate upgrade from the a9 Gen 3 processor that is in the 77GX

77GX advantages over the 77C1:
- The GX has a very modern and minimalist design that is less than 1" thick and comes with the no gap wall mount built-in.
- The GX series has the Next Gen ATSC 3.0 decoder/tuner built in. The C1 has the ATSC 1.0 tuner.
- The GX has a moderately better built-in audio system than the C1.

This year's a9 Gen 4 processor is only a moderate upgrade from the a9 Gen 3.

My CX just turned itself off, and now I can't turn It back on. Seems like a power issue, no red light, black screen, no connection through the hdmi or usb. Tried a YouTube unplugging trick, but it doesn't work. Does anyone know anything about this being an issue, or does anyone have some advice on what I can do to fix it?

I’ll add looking at tests on YouTube, the C1 apparently doesn’t lose much peak brightness when using BFI compared to the CX.

Might be important for those who use & like motion processing features.

I’m not one of them but thought it was worth mentioning.

Anyone here think the CX is worth $1100 open box from Best Buy? Wasn't a return or defective but was a display model. Has 5600 hours on it. No burn in. Obviously always a risk with open box. Esp OLED open box.. idk though for 100 to 200 more I could get a brand new middle/ high tier Sony or Samsung. Granted not the top of the line model but not the lowest ranked either.

I’ve ran into this on my C1... Once.

So yeah, it is a thing. Unfortunately have a few clues which caused it.

Happened during a dark scene in Dolby Vision from Disney + from Apple TV4K.
I went to the same film, same scene from the Internal App, 0 issue.
Then I went to another HDMI input & played some HDR games.
Then went back to the film, same scene from Apple TV4K & the issue magically went away.

Alls I would suggest to do if you can, is make sure the player is outputting Black Level in “Limited Range” if you can.

I think Apple TV4K forces Full Range regardless of chroma sub sampling.

PS5 mentions if you experience “flickering” in 4K content to lower chroma subsampling to 4:2:2 or 4:2:0.

On LG with Apple TV4K, LG locks you out of setting up Black Level.
LG’s Internal App locks you out as well but at least they have it correctly set to “Limited Range”

So my guess is it is an HDMI bandwidth problem. I have 0 issues with PS5 because it passes 32GB/s no problem.
