I’ll always think the original film is in a league of its own, it’s not even close. That being said, I enjoy all the sequels so far to some extent— I’m in the minority that liked Fallen Kingdom more than the first Jurassic World, and JP III rounds out the bottom for me.

Disappointing to hear Dominion isn’t very good. I’ll still see for myself but I was hoping they would really knock this last one out of the park (pun intended?)

Exactly, when they fill the movie with "please clap" moments it falls flat.

Count me in for The Fallen Kingdom, and I'll take it a step further and state Bayona delivered the best of all the Jurassic sequels, and the fact that the disc is stunning doesn't hurt matters.

In spite of the fact it will be streaming, I'm certainly looking forward far more to the Amazon LOTR episodes he will direct than anything directed by Colin Trevorrow, that's for sure.

I like the Zavvi edition 6 individual steelbooks with the metal case better.

Yeah, me, too. This U.S. set is nice, mind you, but in the end, yeah, the UK wins this round. If the Best Buy set had also been Steelbooks, then it would’ve ripped.

So is there any US option for a steelbook set? Or at minimum a set with individual cases?

I rewatched JP on UHD for the first time and the DTS:X was all over the place. Some particular sound fx were a lot louder than other parts of the film - it would get loud for 20 seconds then go normal, particularly around the later raptor scenes. Is this an issue with my AVR room correction or the mix itself?

You could get the individual cases that are out now and then buy Dominion when it comes out

Does any of the box sets have individual sleeves or holders for the movies or are they all stacked discs?

I love the third movie. When Sam and a bit of Laura is in those they are always better. For some reason The reviewer loves the video on the second. It's Terrible. DNS, too much red in dark scenes. Yikes vs the first movie with a very high bit rate. Sorry reviewer Jurassic Park video quality is way better. And I have the Jurassic Park CAV Laserdisc version. In a different ratio. Wonder if there's a difference. ie The Postman clearly the Widescreen is a crop job of top and bottom . Had to get the Hong Kong LD for that cause the Love scene is shown fully vs the odd widescreen ie they made a widescreen out of the 4:3 Ninja Scroll which messed me up for awhile thinking the 4:3 wasn't the right ratio smh... I have the 5 movie set which despite having by count 3 Parks and 2 Worlds is called the Jurassic World 5 movie set uh yeah where does 2 beat 3?

Will there be a regular 6 movie 4K Blu ray set? The statue looks nice, but I just want the movies.

I watched JP on UHD 2 days ago. I didn't notice any major changes in the levels in the DTS:X soundtrack.

What surround system do you have? Are you using a receiver, separates...? Which room correction do you have?

Yeah. I had the same issue. I was wondering if there was something wrong with my disc. No issues on the DTS-HD MA on 1080p.

Think this was discussed long time ago in AVSForums bass threads where there were many complaining about neutered ULF and general lack of dynamic range on many DTS-X mixes when compared to the DTS-HA MA counterpart featured on the BD

Next year (2023) is the 30th anniversary of Jurassic Park. I guess a full remaster is too much to ask from Universal...?

I love that the new movie seems to be pretty universally hated. I’ve seen JW once, and couldn’t believe what a steaming pile of cliched shit it was. I was more shocked when it seemed pretty well liked. I haven’t seen it’s sequel, even though I got the 5 movie set for $30 last holiday, still don’t care to.

I'm disappointed they seem to have put Neil, Dern, and Goldblum to waste. Typical Hollywood cash-in attitude. They were due for a comeback but not like that.
