The old version's been off the market for 2 years, I think. You should be safe unless a store has some very old stock sitting on the shelves...

Just make sure it says English PCM 5.1(Uncompressed) on the back and you're good to go.

Yes.

The security tape across the top of the disc case reads “FIFTH ELEMENT, THE RMSTD BD” on the new version, the catalog number on the spine of the re-master is 21520, the originals catalog number was 15018 and lastly the bottom border (front cover) area that contains the “Experience High Definition” slogan is set against a silver/foil background on the re-master versus a flat gray border on the original.

The remastered one also had both PCM and Dolby TrueHD offered as the audio codecs. That should be a fast indicator.

The original release had PCM 5.1 as well. The remastered release is the only one to feature a Dolby TrueHD track.

if you have a nice subwoofer. Listen to the intro of the movie with the spaceship. One of the loudest LFE's in movies ever.

i higly doubt the disc is an improvment in aq/pq. The pq on the us disc is refrence in my opinion, as is the aq. The disc you refrenced doesnt even have a lossless track
