I'm happy that this film passed $1 billion.

Now lets see if BluBonnet manages to pass Penton-Man

Ukraine Tomorrow we'll know for shure ...

As of now less than couple hundred bucks ($176) separate the two; Maverick having that super narrow edge.

Quote:
"By all accounts, the Paramount blockbuster earned a hair more than Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis Presley fantasia with $30,500,176 to Elvis’ $30,500,000. Box-office races don’t come tighter than that."
* And for how far Maverick can go from here; the sky is the limit.
Without China and Russia it can go much higher than we think ...

I'm looking @ various numbers, comparisons, last year ... by the way Spider-Man: No Way Home played in theaters for 189 days! Last day was last Thursday, June 23, 2022.

I have no clue what the future holds up for Top Gun: Maverick, but it sure is on fire, meaning @ the cash register.

I'll take it one week @ a time, one month @ a time, ...and who knows when Maverick might expire; only the gods of the heavens above us all.

Can Maverick play in theaters till December 15, the day before Avatar 2 opens the new water gates? I have zero clue, less than zero.

$2 billion I don't see it on the horizon, but everything is so foggy in this world today; we cannot see clear anymore, we cannot breathe free anymore, we cannot be normal anymore ... and for a long time to come.

You are roughly in the 3% minority, statistically speaking.

Which 2022 movie do you prefer over Top Gun: Maverick?

Just to add another stat ...

Quote:
“Top Gun Maverick” flew to the top of the box office charts in South Korea over the weekend, with a supersonic $9.6 million opening loop.
That small token helped TG:M to increase its International level by 1%, enough to pass the $1 billion mark on Sunday (today).

Top Gun: Maverick is only the 2nd film since 2019 to break the $1B mark

Top Gun 2 lost to Elvis by roughly $1M. Sundays estimates for TGM we're too generous and Elvis held a lot better than expected.

Watched this last night and loved it. Fun, engaging, and respected the first movie's legacy and characters.

Not a member of Box Office Theory I take it? A few members over there have access to the live industry box-office numbers. We'll discuss later when the numbers I'm talking about hit.
