The original subtitles and the Stereo audio mix along with the 30 min feature that was on the laserdisc special edition. Count me in.

They aren't bolded, but Sony have made it a point to mention "original theatrical" audio as a bullet point when they have included it on recent 4K UHD discs, like Heavy Metal, The Karate Kid Collection and Real Genius. Presumably, the 5.1 and 2.0 tracks are being included on this new 4K UHD (the 2017 disc has only Atmos) because they are original mixes, but it's strange that they don't explicitly say so.

Man... I love that textured and glittered slip on the old edition, but they are adding the original stylized subs? Damn... will dip once again. Glad it is a SteelBook, given I have that for Mary Shelley's Frankenstein.

Though they did mention it for Ghostbusters box set and ended up ripping off many customers by providing downmixes instead. Is that what happened with Labyrinth also?

I’ve bought this so many times going back to laserdisc. Even had the Superbit dvd. Remember those? Currently have the supreme edition. Do I need this new 4K…?

Remember when none of the early DVD's carried over the bonus features from the laserdisc. The sought after deleted scenes could only be seen in crappy copies on VHS of the workprint cut until the Collector's Edition and then on they keep adding more bonus features then we had on any other format.

If it was a new (proper) transfer, I'd be sold. Dolby Vision makes no notable improvement for me. Never has. Not rebuying for a crappy music video.

Funny all the OG audio is tops with most in these parts with many turning their nose up at an Atmos or other revisonist sound mix, while revision color timing (Director approved:X) gets a standing ovation. And while I'm at it holy shit can we pleeease for the love of all things living get that SUPERBIT color timing (correct, as shown in theaters) on a 4k release!

AFAIK the 2.0 tracks in the Ghostbusters box were not downmixes. Rather, the issue was that Sony botched the encoding, causing sounds to play out of the wrong channels when processed in Pro Logic.

Here's hoping Dracula has the real original theatrical 2.0 and that it's competently encoded!

I've never seen audio to be a big thing on this forum for some reason. They always discuss PQ to death though.

Dolby Vision upgrade would be more important for a 10,000 nits encode like "A Few Good Men" that ironically turns 30 this year as well....

I'm hoping for a steelbook for that one. But I have the iTunes stream in case it doesn't happen.

I never bought the first UHD of Dracula so I might bite this time

Picture quality will always get more discussion but audio is a huge deal in this forum. Whether it's discussion about a new mix, the lack of OG audio, or various technical issues, I feel like nearly every thread I've ever been a part of has had some significant discussions about audio.

Right...usually the discussion turns to disparage new audio mixes (OG or nothing), yet HDR is supermodel tits.

I own the Criterion laser and the Sony laser that opens almost like an album. This is my favorite poster art and wish they had used it for this new steelbook.

Can’t believe it’s the 30th anniversary already. I saw it three times opening week! I was living in NYC at age 23 and saw it on the huge screen at Loews Astor Plaza! Great experience.

HDR isn't inherently revisionist. In that case we can keep going down the chain and say home video releases are revisionist period. Laugh!

Not ready to give up my beautifully slipped 4K for this, but a disc swap may be in order.
