I'm a chump, but I be will getting the ST:TMP deluxe Complete Adventure because I dig all the extra swag it comes with. I was 7 when this movie came out and it was a huge deal for me and I recognize a lot of the merch pictured in the set.

But I'll still be getting the stand-alone DE 4K disc so I can watch the DE without worrying about wrecking the disc taking it out of that stupid cardboard sleeve.

Question about Amazon pre-orders: this is the first time I would be pre-ordering multiple titles that release on the same day. Will Amazon pack them all together since they release on the same day? Or can I expect 4 giant bubble bags with a single movie floating around in each one?

That makes this an easy decision for me: deluxe set for TMP and the standalones of 5 and 6.

I've never seen the SLV. I can now understand why Robert Wise cut those scenes.

Sometimes Amazon had combined different orders of different dates in one shipment and split items from one order into separate shipments. Your kelicams might vary.

I am sure amazon will find a way to fit all six in one bubble mailer.

Eh, that Collector's Edition doesn't do much for me, but I am *VERY* interested in the bonus disc.. but I really don't care for the packaging. I would usually get it for the bonus, but.. ugh, I just don't like it. I mean it's pretty it just doesn't do me anything.

I am hoping that bonus disc is released elsewhere, otherwise... might have to get it through other means.

Same! I'll be picking up all 6 films as standalone 4K blu-rays to look nice in my Star Trek collection and then also the Complete Adventure set too because I also recognize all the goodies it comes with and haven't seen the longer ABC cut of the movies since the 90s.

What’s all the bling that comes with this? Looks like a poster and are those patches and bumper stickers?

HMV listing and only £60 for the deluxe TMP feels like ok...

https://store.hmv.com/store/film-tv/...ector-s-editio

All three editions in 4k and a new 8 part documentary of the DE on blu ray

Update: Sorry guys been out all afternoon, tried to be helpful and then realised I was about 8 hrs behind everyone else.

I'm going with the regular director's cut to fit in with the others. Hopefully I can pick up a disc only copy of the theatrical/SLV version on ebay later on.

Okay,I've read this thread and the Star Trek: The Original Motion Picture 6-Movie Collection 4K UHD (1979-1991) thread since today's announcment.

There is no thread yet in the Blu Ray section of the forum(I may start one once I get my question answered).

I don't have 4K.I have 4K releases when they come as part of a store exclusive or like when I got the recent Unbreakable and Lifeforce releases. But I buy a 4K release for the Blu Ray disks.

So i want to be clear so I don't buy the wrong thing. If all I want/need is the Director Edition of Star Trek The Motion Picture then I should just get the standalone Blu Ray Release.

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Star-...lu-ray/318862/

I will get the Directors Edition on Blu Ray and the Special Features disk?

I will get on the Blu Ray movie disk.....

Audio Commentary with David C. Fein, Mike Matessino, and Daren R. Dochterman—NEW!
Audio Commentary by Robert Wise, Douglas Trumbull, John Dykstra, Jerry Goldsmith, and Stephen Collins
Text Commentary by Michael and Denise Okuda

And the Blu Ray bonus disk will have this.....

Blu-ray Disc™ bonus features:

The Human Adventure—An all-new 8-part documentary detailing how the Director’s Edition came to life—NEW!
Preparing the Future – How the remastering began
A Wise Choice – The storied history of Robert Wise
Refitting the Enterprise – How the Enterprise design shaped future federation starships
Sounding Off – Exploring new dimensions of sound in Dolby Atmos
V’ger - The conception and restoration of an iconic alien antagonist
Return to Tomorrow – Reaching an already high bar with new CGI effects
A Grand Theme – Behind the iconic, influential music score that shaped the franchise’s future
The Grand Vision – The legacy and evolving reputation of this classic movie
Deleted Scenes — NEW!
Effects Tests — NEW!
Costume Tests — NEW!
Computer Display Graphics — NEW!
Additional legacy bonus content

I should NOT get the The Director's Edition Complete Adventure. It does NOT include the Director's Edition on Blu Ray.Only a 4K disk.Disk 2 is a second 4k disk of the other two cuts of the film. And disk 3 is the Blu Ray special features disk.

Just want to be clear that i get the right release. The Complete Adventure looks cool and has a lot of swag but it does me no good if i can't watch the Director's Edition since I don't have 4K.

Just get the standalone Blu Ray release and I get that cut of the film and all the special features?

Couldnt they include just one poster of the original artwork rather than their suped up scrappy photoshop version they created for the DE.

Sweet, it has slots for the discs. Can't wait for all of the "my discs won't play because they are scratched" posts.

That listing says delivery to the UK only, in case someone was considering importing that one.

I didn't notice the Complete Adventure was 4K only for the movie and Blu-ray for the bonus. Shouldn't be listed as a combo pack then. So the only way to get Blu-ray copies for the theatrical and director's edition is through the 6-film set.
As long as the 4K discs play forever I probably wouldn't need the Blu-ray discs, but with that type of packaging... ahh, why can't they get it right.

It’s still a major boning of the fans. Whether you bought the earlier 4-film set or plan on getting the 6-film set, you still need to lay out another $100 for the SLV version of TMP in widescreen. A majority could probably care less about the extra swag they are throwing in there, we just want the extra disc.
