Yeah, I may even wait to get the whole thing a year or two down the line. That big 4K set may finally have the "Journey" feature-film doc that I'd like to have all-together! I'm a completist for these special features, and love the Trek feature films -- I wrote a book chapter on their visual effects! -- but I skipped the 4-film set because I knew something else would eventually come down the line. And I'm increasingly veering towards skipping TMP box set just to make a statement.

I don't care about having them all together in the same box -- but I want that damn documentary -- and a full 4K 10-film box set I guess seems like the next place most likely that it would show up, right? Since there were doc pieces done on the NextGen films, too, right?

You're being silly. They'll do a 2 film Next Generation Set. Then 6 months later release a 4 film set with no option other than to get the full set to complete

I'll patiently wait again if that's the case.

No, the documentary - The Journey to the Silver Screen - only covers the six films with the TOS crew. No mention is made of the TNG crew films.

Thanks. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.... Then this makes me more angry that Paramount seemingly isn't including it in any of these current new batches of all six films!!! Normally I am an advocate for a "Limited Edition" truly being limited... but I guess now Paramount is leaning into it to get sales, also claiming that the SLV of TMP will be exclusive and limited to that set!

Well I guess there are still enough people who wanted the Star Trek 1-4 box at $39.99 as it's no longer available for Prime Day deal.

The other 1-4 box re-release is still available but for some odd reason it's more expensive

Do you remember DVD box set? The movies on DVD were originally one-disc editions until they made The Motion Picture a two-disc special edition, so the box set had one special edition and the rest were regular editions. Then they made Wrath of Khan special edition, so a new box set with two special editions came out. Then they made The Search for Spock special edition, so there was a new box set with three special editions. And this kept going until all ten movies were special editions.

I wonder if there's someone out there who owns every one of these sets.

Did all the extras make it to BD?

I have all those SE DVDs but without the slipbox. I've bought the ST movies so many times it isn't funny. These 4K ones will be my last hurrah for Star Trek.

Out of curiosity, why? And do the 2-disc sets have anything the newer UHDs/blue don't have?
