![]() Other announcements pretty good though. Ghost Stories for Christmas upgrade a nice surprise. Nil By Mouth a long time coming and looks great. Tam Lin looks very interesting, definitely up for that at some point. The Greenaway another must have, great stuff. Hope they announce a Blu-ray edition of Watership Down though, I was really looking forward to it. Not planning on going 4K at all, so much like Get Carter and The Proposition I was happy with the Blu-ray LE release in both cases. |

BFI in beast mode, I see. Almost too many great announcements for a single month.

Those five releases look great. Watership Down contains a blu as well. How will the 4 BFI volumes of Bergman differ from the Criterion set? I hope some dilligent contributor here provides a summary. I'm very happy with the Criterion set though, particularly the way it's presented.

Appreciate the offerings must mean that Watership Down would sell better, but of the three films it's clearly the inferior. |

With BFI licencing from Universal these days, and giving Watership Down the 4K UHD treatment, I wouldn't be at all surprised if we saw a 4K UHD of Quadrophenia from them at some point.

This is also something Second Sight have often been doing and just means we have to wait for a regular Blu-ray reissue, and therefore miss out on the LE (and pay far less eventually too). I would've been happy to buy a Blu-ray LE of The Witch, Drive and The Babadook but they each only had a 4K UHD Dual Format LE initially so I'm forced to wait for a BD reissue (and won't pay more than a tenner at most since those are all double-dips; same deal with Watership Down to be honest). Would've expected this kind of thing from Arrow, not BFI... |

THE BALLAD OF TAM LIN is a must: Roddy McDowall's sole directorial effort, with gleaming cinematography by Billy Williams and Hollywood legend Ava Gardner in cold ***** mode. My only question: will this be a new restoration or the same transfer that Imprint used?

I wonder if they'll be able to get some of Imprint's extras? Their release is stacked. |
