Mine didn't arrive either. They turned the van around at 9:30 pm and straight up cancelled my order. "Customer refused due to damage." Now it's out of stock so I'm totally screwed.

I am watching the BD of the Director's Cut right now and it looks and sounds amazing. I can only imagine how great the 4K looks. My cat, who destroyed my TV, senses my anger and won't come around.

I'm guessing if Harpo goes for laser pointers, the scene where the brilliant V'ger probe invades the Enterprise's bridge sets his kitty Phaser on catnip?

It always bugged me that I never saw what happened to the first Klingon D7 class battle cruiser in the opening sequence but for the first time I noticed on the left video panel (at the 8 minute mark) on the Epsilon space station that we in fact do see it disappear off their screen. Has this always been there or is it only shown in the DC? This mystery has been solved and I'm finally at peace

Permission to be stoked, Captain? Just about to give my 1080p a spin as well. Who knows, maybe the blu-rays will best the UHDs in the grain department (if Paramount applies any DNR to the 4ks)...

I order a lot of movies through Bestbuy. They use to do an automatic price drop if the movie released at a lower price. Not anymore. They make you call for the credit. A little frustrating. Now they have been locking in preorders and not letting you cancel. Means you have to hope for a lower price at release or order from another source like Amazon and return one of them. Add in no elite perks and free shipping on all orders increases their bottom line.
Never had a problem with the automatic refund. Seems like as recently as last month i got an automatic refund for an item that dropped in price b/w dispatch processing and release day

The change in the Elite status (esp the 45 day to 15 day return/price guarantee) has certainly stopped almost all my order other than a couple exclusives and items that are pretty much already lowest likley sale price (like the recent TV 2 for $20 deal)

This is only in the 2022 Director's Edition.

Got the Complete Adventure box at Best Buy today, and the Director's Edition disc was a bit scratched. It does affect playback in some spots, so I'm going to see if I can exchange it for another copy.

And I'm probably the only person who cares about this, but I am happy to report that both the DE and the theatrical/SLV discs do retain the original subtitle fonts for the Klingon and Vulcan scenes! (The font is different in the DE, but no less distinctive.) They are player-generated, but because they are properly placed within the frame and in the correct font, they seem burnt-in.

Between this and the Godfather UHDs, I really hope this is the policy going forward at Paramount for this sort of thing (haven't seen V & VI yet).

Arghh...I *still* don't have this thing in my hands. Pre-ordered ImportCDs back in July and then tried to Cancel in the last 24 hours because no movement...then suddenly it ships this morning... In-between I had ordered one at Best Buy that is also shipping. Guess I will look at both to see which one arrives in the best condition! I may have an extra copy (to sell at a reasonable Ferengi price) if anyone will want one once this thing disappears!

I got my copy from Amazon. Crushed, due to being sent in a bloody bubble mailer. So I have a return already set up and I purchased another copy at Best Buy which is waiting for me. Hopefully that will yield better results.

Got my UK version of TCA yesterday from Zavvi. Came in a stable box and additional bubble wrap, so thankfully no damge at all. Very glad I went with the UK edition, as it has now been confirmed that the German edition does not include the SLV and the theatrical cut is the previously released disc only.
Very strange decision by paramount, as the 4K UHD of the TC in the UK set has German language for the TC, German subtitles for the SLV and there are even German rating logos printed on the disc.

It’s the same on 6, the subs are player generated but they’ve used the same/similar font and have even placed them almost identically to where they were placed in the OG version. Yay!

-- Actually, not totally. I had this discussion about selling out with pre-orders and selling out this week (topics of discussion) with a few people in the last few days. What I'm hearing is there are more to be distributed - not everything made goes out to stores at once. We're at the point now where the retailer decides if they want to risk purchasing more of a new release - and I put it that way because the retailers are used to new releases taking up shelf space and normally don't actually buy stuff like this but offer space to manufacturers and distributors (if that makes sense). Keep your eyes open and surf the sites... you'll find one in the next few weeks.
Good hunting!

They’re not his, either. There’s no way the best captain ever in Starfleet doesn’t know the difference between “your” and “you’re”.

To be totally honest, I'm a little disappointed in the video quality of the TV Extended Version. For the first time, I wrote to Bill Hunt over at the bits and expressed my thoughts about his "B" rating for video review and I'm a little disappointed at Paramount as well.
It seems like Hunt's review could be a little biased as he has friends over there (to the point where he's invited to premieres and gatherings).
Having viewed countless older programs and movies, and absolutely stunned by the video quality our technology can reproduce and revitalize older stuff at times, the TV Extended Version looks dull.
Yes, I know about the limitations as someone will bring up, but there were a bunch of limitations in other projects of the past - especially stuff from the early days of b/w and the early days of color TV and motion pictures, and a ton of money went into them to get a stunning result.
The TV Extended Version isn't visually stunning.
I hope Paramount sees the fan base once again and reconsiders the TV Extended Version project... and gives it what I think it deserves.

I went with the standard release because it'll match the others and look nicer on the shelf, but I'm hoping they release the SLV on its own in some capacity at some point.

Same. I'm putting the old theatrical BD in with the UHD until that happens because there's no way I am buying that overpriced version TMP.

The footage had to cut into the existing 4K HDR master of the theatrical cut. If you're unhappy with the look, that's the way it's been for the last year.
