Unless you're buying a model from a brands' first or second tier range, you're more or less buying a cheap TV with a logo and there's usually a premium for that logo.

Which is something you've done with your current display, you trusted the brand over the TV. Yes, the big names make quality products, but someone like TCL (if I recall) can charge less because they make everything themselves.

No matter what you buy there's going to be a certain amount of panel lottery at play, just buy from someone with a decent returns policy.
