By the way, all you have to do is look on Ebay, and you'll see tons of Blu-rays for sale with no case or artwork. I guess its becoming somewhat of an epidemic.
Because they're all stolen. BRs are high-SRP items that fence well. They pop the disc out of the case for portability and concealment.

that has to be a good thief, lol, they would have to pop open the case, take off the stickers, lol too much work, all while trying to be quiet, any way when i sell movies, i usally sell without the case, because shipping is cheaper, but i put the item cheaper too, and i usually just print artwork for some, because 1. the original artwork was damaged, or 2. i keep it in case i ever want to buy again, and i could buy it cheaper from some selling the disc only, lol

Actually what they do is they smack the box to free the disc inside then slice open the side and then slide the disc out. Goes pretty quickly and can be done quietly. Then put the box back down and leave with the disc.

I found this out when I came across a fully opened box for Night at the Museum and the clerk told me it's usually not completely opened.

The security stickers on sides and bottom are there for a reason

When I was a buyer, I figured out how to steal a DVD quickly barely doing any harm even to the shrink.

There was a guy wecalled the "VHS Vacuum", even with LP standing right next to him he was stealing stuff. Never figured out how he did it.

Tsk tsk... acronyms may confuse some people....

LP=Loss Prevention; Employees tasked specifically with keeping people from stealing. They're generally dressed down in normal clothes and will walk around the store pretending to shop while covertly watching suspicious behavior.

I used to work at a big box store and hung out with the LP guy. When I shop there I occassionally would nonchalantly nod at him or scope out who he watching because talking to him would draw attention to him and screw up his job.

They usually are pretty good. People only think about the obvious clerk who they see watching them but these guys will watch you from across the store while pretending to look through some clothes and you'll totally miss them.

nah i dont have the guts to, i am a chicken, lol

but the blockbuster i go to, last summer, they had somebody who would come in and steal the disc and leave the covers all broken up, in the comedy section, and this store is super tiny, i could believe they got away with it, and it was like any continuous thing, almost everytime i went i would see more cases, they had them stacked behind the counter, at least 100 of them, i couldnt believe it, lol
