So I went to PM STEEDEEL some words of encouragement and it says he can't receive them... Is that part of the ban?

It could be, but perhaps his inbox is full. I know it's happened with other members when I've tried to PM them, and the message wouldn't go through until the recipient deleted some of their old messages.

lol, that's true. It's surprising how they mount up - I've just checked mine and I've currently got 753......must start deleting them right now.

Not to belabour the point, but as I said over on the ENDS thread, this movie raises a particular dilemma for me.

I was moderately happy with H18. Watching KILLS made me appreciate the first instalment all the more as part of a larger story.

I watched '78, H18 and KILLS all in glorious 4K and uncompressed object oriented sound as a lead up to ENDS in my dadcave. I was STOKED! IMHO this should have been a slam dunk. It was really a difficult task for these guys to mess this up.

Yet somehow they did so badly, that I not only want to avoid picking up ENDS on UHD, I don't think I'll ever want to watch H18 or KILLS ever again.

Looking at the poll for Ends there are more votes for dislike vs like. I didn't care for Kills and didn't think much of Ends either. Two weeks prior I was able to watch Halloween 1978 in the theater for the first time which was quite a treat as I hadn't seen it in decades. With the recent Shout sale I picked up the first five films in UHD and will need to go through those.

I will always watch the original classic every October!

It's not only one of the greatest horror movies of all time - It is one of the greatest movies of all time...

That's surprising that a sequel could be bad enough to ruin the original movies.

When you stream it that's what happens.

Potato vision is repulsive.

Nothing could ruin the original as a standalone movie. Alone, it now represents my favourite timeline of the series.

But I view the last 3 movies as a single arc. You would agree that a horrifically bad 3rd act of a single movie could make you not want to watch it again no matter how great the first two acts were? For me it does...

Anyways, It's a polarizing movie, as the poll in it's thread would indicate. I'm happy for those that enjoyed it even if it really disappointed me..

If you are a fan of FRIDAY THE 13th, It'll be interesting to see what your take is on the UHD.

I bought it even after it was ripped apart in the threads here as a curiosity. With the exception of 3 members here (actually 2 as one recanted), everyone here agrees that the SHOUT bluray is superior. I have both, and it's not even close....I will venture to say that any stream would be better than the crushed blacks and eye searing whites on the UHD.

I do like F13.

I don't have the shout factory blu to compare but I started watching the UHD last night and didn't see anything particularly off about it.

I think I probably saw it most often on TV or VHS and I may be willing to cut it some slack based on it's age.

My copy of the Howling is out for delivery. Really looking forward to seeing it because if I ever saw it it was when it came out in theaters long ago.

Watched Bullet Train on 4K disc last night and it's a demo-disc. The 4K DV / Atmos is amazing on it.

Definitely demo material....and easily the most fun I've had watching a movie in years.

As I've said many times before, my favourite viewing of F13 was on VHS with parts 1 to 4 all crammed on to the same tape. My buddies and our girlfriends all huddled around a 13 inch screen in a fishing cabin up on Rice Lake back in high school.

Strip poker, drinking and scaring the crap out of each other in the woods with hockey masks and large knives were all on order that weekend.

In 2022, the UHD is an enormous step backward from the Bluray and stream of this title...

I'm skipping the F13 4K disc release. I have that giant boxed set from not even two years ago and will stick to that for now, or until they correct the issue with the current 4K disc.
