Default Who has the worst blu-ray setup?

I wouldn't consider mine terrible, so just wondering who has some really bad setups. We've all heard about who's got the greatest setups already.

I'm watching on a 1080i 50" Plasma. PS3. Only sound is from the TV speakers.

I had my PS3 hooked up to a 37 inch SD TV for several months. I didn't buy any BD movies until I got my 42 inch lcd though. My surround sound is kinda old but it does the job well enough with the fiber optic.

Wow, those 360 setups are classic.
They're also pretty laughable.

I think I have a shot at this. 34" Sony HD TUBE TV. Blu-ray via High Def component cable. TV speakers, no HDMI, 1080i.

Default This Rocks!

[QUOTE=Alley;206843]I wouldn't consider mine terrible, so just wondering who has some really bad setups. We've all heard about who's got the greatest setups already.

I have a "friend" who has started his home theater set-up with a Sony 300 blu-ray player hooked up to his 8" portable TV, black and white VHS player with a 2' antenna. (Gets AM, FM as well.) He has jerry rigged a 4.0 speaker surround sound set-up using his dad's old Craico car door speakers from a 1977 Gremlin. The distortion level on these speakers when cranking it to the number two volume level is explicite and a wonder to behold! It isn't True HD 4.0 really, just one channel out-put into four speakers. Magnificent! He is currently saving up for a sub for some serious bottom!

So far this one is the clear winner. It isn't even 4.0 - it's 1.0 x 4. It even bests the pathetic 360 setups.

"Gets AM, FM as well." lol... freakin' classic

There's nothing wrong with watching on a 1080i display when the source is 1080p. The worst that can happen is a slight flicker, and most people won't even be able to notice that. At least you are getting the whole 1920X1080 image, unlike with 720p displays where you are only seeing 2/3 of the image.

TV speakers, though, is not so good. Blu-ray is a great reason for upgrading to a nice receiver!

Thanks for reminding me John. My "Friend" also painted "1080p" on his portable B&W TV with car model paint. Not much more he needs really at this point! Ready to Rock Arkansas!
