The steel was gorgeous but the fact that it was the same old Blu-ray was salt to the wound.

Snagged this for 60$, roughly making each film a little less than 3$ a pop. I wanted to hold out until a 4K set comes along but this is too good to pass up. I can always retroactively pick up the eventual 4K releases of select films I enjoy most.

Hoping this is kind of a blowoff top to rid existing inventory...and that we'll be getting UHD BDs at some point sooner than later.

I just hope that when the UHDs do come out that if they have a complete series set that they also offer them individually. I want all of them but the Craig films since I already have the first four on UHD and refuse to own the turd that is No Time To Die.

I just rewatched the Criterion Dr. No to start my yearly series rewatch.

It is beyond appalling what they have done to the audio of these films. The fact that I have to watch the 1991 banned Criterion release to have the best version of the film's intricate mono mix (except for Criterion's janky attempt to fix the blown out final JB theme note in the end credits) is insane but that's how it stands.

The lossy BD mono is a hideous joke by comparison. And don't ever get me started on the 2006 MiCasa 5.1 remixes that still disgrace the films by being kept in circulation.

We're a tiny minority pissing in the wind, my friend.

I'm still happy I paid $70 for the black box with digital codes.

Do the codes redeem in 4K?

I'm amazed that we didn't get 4Ks for the 60th anniversary this year. SPECTRE lives!

I redeemed the codes in Vudu all HDX

It’s MGM and Fox but since MGM is the main studio you could only redeem the code in Vudu.

It is one code for all the films.

I have them all on Blu-ray and bought the Craig 4K box...

MGM please take my money and let me buy those Craig 4K discs again like a sucker with a complete 4K set already!

I keep getting the sinking feeling that the Amazon/MGM merger ****ed up all plans of that ever happening though. Those early Connery films look soooo good in streaming 4K (and even on Blu-ray). I MUST know what they'd look like in higher bitrate 4K and HDR!

They are definitely looking to shift the existing inventory eg bringing out more steelbooks, cheapo box set etc.

I thought they got wiped out in the last edition, along with Bond, Leiter and hopefully Purvis and Wade with their monotonous scripts.

That's a funny comment to make when you represent yourself using Thunderball.

I see vudu has the bond collection in 4k. Does the ultimate collection codes redeem in hd or 4k? Blu-ray.com shows theres a digital “ultimate collection” that you can buy in 4k. Not sure if this is a separate thing or the same as the ultimate collection codes

I currently have the ultimate collection (black box) however if the codes don’t redeem in 4k id rather sell the disks/codes and buy the 4k vudu. Any info appreciated. I see someone above says its hdx but not sure what edition they are referring too.

Is there some difference in sound and vision between the CLV and CAV releases ?
