A very big yes to "A Double Life". Rewatched it yesterday and the whole picture really impressed me. Of course, Ronald Colman is magnificent.

Studiocanal. Not sure if P&S or OM. Have a look on Ebay or Amazon. There's plenty.

I figured Kino would go after Sorry, Wrong Number but I guess Shout probably got it first. At this point we now have Kino, Shout, Criterion, Arrow, and Paramount themselves releasing their catalogue titles. Maybe 1-2 years we'll have nearly all their catalogue on Blu-ray? Even with this, we still don't have The Shootist on Blu-ray which doesn't make a lick of sense to me.

It's crazy to think there was a time not too long ago when there was no releases of Paramount movies. Whenever someone brought up a Paramount movie, it was like a Disney movie: zero chance of a blu-ray release.

Yeah, I remember those days and being really frustrated. I think it was around when Addams Family Values was released by Paramount for the first time on Blu-ray that the gates were opening. Shout started releasing some titles like The Fan and Prophecy, a few from Criterion. Now, it's everyone.

I wish something like this could happen with Disney/Fox as every time I think about all the Fox titles out there being wasted and vanishing, it really bothers me. At first I was ok with Disney buying Fox, now, it seems like it was a huge mistake.

I am convinced Paramount themselves will release Shootist, possibly on 4k since it is heavily requested and would probably be worth a full UHD release.

Hope "Une Manche et la Belle" aka "A Kiss for a Killer" from 1957 is one of the French noirs Kino has access to. Directed with Hitchockian flair by Henri Verneuil, it's terrific - and I believe the picture has or at least had some connection to Gaumont. Would love to see the French language version (subtitled of course) make it to Blu-ray.
It's one of my favorite 50's crime films - tense and sexy. With an expert trio of European stars - Henri Vidal, Mylene Demongeot and Isa Miranda.

Anyone else guessing Kino does a 4k of High Noon?

I’ll take a Phase IV 4k UHD with both versions of the film finally being presented.

I second this - Une Manche et la Belle is absolutely fantastic, one of my favourite French noirs as well. There’s a treasure trove of international noir out there, this is a good example.

Can @KLI answer and I mean him only: did Kino turn down Sorry Wrong Number 1948 because Paramount gave you an old master? And that's how it ended up at Shout?

Yeah, Sorry Wrong Number (1948) seems more like a title Kino would've wanted, over Shout Factory. But I'll take it.

Especially that KLI already confessed to be a Burt Lancaster superfan

All this speculation over which Olive titles might make their way to this street corner. Clearly, the next big 4k reveal can only be..."Shanks"!

I actually somewhat, kinda enjoyed Shanks. A very strange film for sure.

Sorry to go off-topic, but can anyone help me with the answer to these questions: Are Warner Archive BDs coded Region A or Region-Free? Are Warner Archive DVDs coded Region 1 or Region-Free? Thanks.

There's literally an entire thread for Warner Archive in this very subforum.

Blu Rays from Warners are almost always Region Free. The burned DVD-Rs from Warner Archives are also Region Free. However, I don't know about pressed DVDs from Warners.

I've no idea of the circumstances behind this particular title, but it's worth noting that Shout got their foot in the Paramount door a good while before Kino, so it may simply be the case that they signed this title before Kino had a chance to. I can't imagine they'd pass on it.
