The pioneer will have an overall better PQ, deeper blacks and accurate colors. the samsung 8000 is still a good tv, your going to get a good picture from that tv, just not better than the pioneer. if your thinking about getting a samsung i would wait for the B9000 in the fall. unlike these current models that use edge lit LED's, the 9000 has local dimming just like the A950. and its suppose to improve on that tech also.

Another thing. theres no such thing as to big. the last thing you want to do is by a smaller size and later on wishing you had a bigger tv. by the biggest you can afford. you can get a good deal at bestbuy on the 151 elite for a little more than the 8000. you just have to talk to a manager or a supervisor. it should be easy seeing how the current price of the 60" elite is $4800.

And finally, go into the store and see both tv's. see which PQ you like best. just a warning, BB doesn't have the kuros set up property. the LCD's always look better than the kuros at BB. they leave the pioneers on movie mode and it looks dim compared to all the LCD's thats set on dynamic A.K.A torch mode. you need to go to a dealer at see the elites. i went to my dealer last week and their elites looks 100x better than bestbuys. i've neve seen a kuro look that good. i was blown away by the PQ.

Good luck with everything.

For me, it was the 55B8000. I spent hours with the 111Fd next to the B8000 at BB playing my own Blu. I watched one for a half hour then the other back and forth.

I fell in love with the PQ of the 8000. I like the way the 8000 seems to put one into the movie because of how sharp and clear the picture is. It made feel like I was actually there.

It all depends what YOU want. The Pioneer will give you a great film like picture. The 8000 will give you a 3D like, sharp picture. That was the quality that what I wanted.

I like a sharp, clear, crisp sound along with the same quality in the picture.
