Great show btw, I own all the DVD sets (well, HD DVD for season 6) & am a proud owner of all! Don't think I'll upgrade though.

I might buy this, I have it on regular dvd though. Sopranos was an amazing show.

Sopranos season 1 was one of the worst video quality shows in my collection, so I'll likely pick this up. I'm just worried about them not releasing the other seasons if sales are lower than expected.

I thought Warner did fine with True Blood and Smallville, although Chuck was lacking. I would hope they do a proper release because they are taking their time and hopefully using it get a good transfer.

Nonsense. David Chase wouldn't allow it. Expect top shelf audio, video and overall technical presentation.

I imagine it will depend on how Season 1 sells, to a great degree.

You can definitely rest easy on the quality though. The Season 6 sets are reference material. Just jaw-dropping.

Won't they just come out with a box set like they did with the dvd's what's the point of the first and the last season's coming out on blu and not the rest of the series

That's kind of a self-fulfilling prophecy, isn't it? If nobody buys Season 1 of course they won't follow with any others. But if they released a full series set now it would probably run close to $500 -- very few people are going to bite at that.

I think it makes much more sense to release a season a year until they're all out, and then maybe a full set at the end. I'm just glad they're starting with Season 1 forward, and not Season 5 working backwards.

A season a year that will take 5 years just to get the rest of them why not a season every few month if it is going to take that long than I'll just keep my dvd set and wait I don't know if I'll even buy the season at all its like prison break all over again where they release half the series and not the rest

Because preparing each set is as much work as preparing a dozen feature films?

Season 6 I and II are easily some of the most watched discs in my collection. A box a year would be just fine with me. Glad to have them at any pace.

Than I might pass until the the entire series is on blu i made the mistake once with prison break won't make it again with the sopranos
