Wait - if the show gets MORE sci-fi ish and less drama-ish then that might work better for me.

I gotta watch it now.

Disney is why.

It was based on a series of books originally written for teens and young adults, hence all the drama...especially during the show's first year. But for some odd reason, that formula didn't jive with what the suits wanted, so they kept interfering, and the storytelling quality broke down fast. Most fans of the show tend to agree that the first season is the best of the three, and I share in that viewpoint as well. Just the opening lines from the pilot set the stage for everything to come, and it still works...

And if that’s the PAL discs I’ll import them.
I checked a few songs on the UK DVDs and they were the replaced versions. I suspect that all the Fox releases (UK, France, Australia etc) will be the same. In Germany the series was released by Kinowelt, and apparently the German audio at least has the original music. No idea if the accompanying English audio tracks do as well though.

Thats fine - Wifey and I can and will do shows like that if done well.

But.... for the helluva it we tried an episode of Roswell, New Mexico last night(on Netflix). Holy Social "Issues", Batman. No thanks, LOL. . I read reviews on the New Mexico show and most said the same thing as we thought. BARF!

But I will somehow try Roswell, the original show as that has overwhelmingly positive reviews.

Yeah, I decided to avoid the remake show when I learned they had made Liz the daughter of an illegal immigrant and turned Max into an ICE agent. I was disgusted that they strayed so far from both the books and the original show's concept, which was about teens searching for acceptance among their peers, and ultimately those around them.
