What I don't understand is why make a prequel to the prequel House of the Dragon that pretty much just got started? HotD begins about 200 years before Game of Thrones, then does about a 20 year time jump forward midway through the first season.
There are some very interesting things that happened in the Conquest of Westeros, 300 years before Game of Thrones, that I think could be awesome to see portrayed on the screen, but this just seems so silly and convoluted to do a prequel, and to then proceed to do a prequel to that prequel. What would've made a whole lot more sense to me is they should've just started HotD back then to begin with, maybe even a little earlier, like around the Doom of Valyria, leading to the Conquest of Westeros, eventually leading up to where we are now with HotD's first season. I mean, it's the same family, and it's essentially the same story, just beginning a bit earlier, and they're already incorporating huge time jumps anyway, so this would've just made perfect sense to me. ![]() |

As I noted in the House of the Dragon thread apart from the books which I haven't read this story was also covered in the extras on I want to say the season seven blu ray which various cast members narrate the story of Aegon's Conquest through a motion comic.
It was a decent tale and if they stick reasonably close to the story it will make for great content. I've literary just finished Game of Thrones season eight one idea for another spin of is the doom. I don't think it was actually covered on what brought an end to their civilization. |

Since they scrapped the Lady Stoneheart plot in the original, they should resurrect Danaerys on another show. Drogon could have flown her body to the Red Priestess Kinvara, and she brings Dany back to life. This way, Dany can be the vengeful villain they failed to write, in season 8. I wouldn’t mind seeing a revenge fueled resurrected Dany causing mayhem, especially on the man who betrayed her. Heck, I would not mind watching her roast Tyrion, for all of his betrayals and bad strategic advice. They could bring back Yara and Gendry, since they remained loyal to her.
I don’t think Emilia Clarke is interested in returning to this universe though. |
