Hey Guys.

August 7 will see the first live action film which might become a trilogy depending on how well the first of the installments of G I Joe stands in the Box Office.

I thought this would an interesting thread discussing what you know about G I Joe. What you want to see based on the cartoons and characters development in comparison to what would you like to see in this film.

Is it going to become a Box Office success or another bash party for the rotten tomatoes?

I am not sure who will be playing Duke for the movie but I want to add that he is my favorite of the characters. I have been a huge fan of his since I saw G I Joe the movie back in the 80's.

Sorry, I read the bolded parts below and should have known you wanted to talk about the cartoon and not the movie.

And you didn't read all the threads I linked to know that they did or didn't talk about the cartoon movie or the live action movie. At least not yet.

nope you are right. I was actually editing. no hard feelings. but was kind of surprised with all the links provided.

I just want this thread to discuss what people grew up with, and what they would like to see staying true with the film.

I do not think rotten tomatoes really matters, look how they bashed TF2 and that movie is making tons of money. I know when GI Joe hits the theater I will go see it but they need new trailers because the one that keeps playing is making it look like it will be a B film at best.

I also grew up in the 80's so I know where you are coming from, hopefully they will do it right, make a ton of money and see a few more in the future.

I know one opinion has as much right as another.

But,

I remember seeing many member looking forward to just a few movies in the past year, and then BASH them after they came out.

Mostly a lot of "its gonna suck, not gonna see it" -- not a lot of actual new movie watching going on apparently.

I don't think it would be a total fail for some dislike for its not the 80's cartoon. Just like Transformers.

But for me, I'm seeing it Day 1.

None of the characters in the new movie are even close to what the cartoon characters looked like and that is why this movie is going to

saw the movie, and I believe it is better than Transformers 2. it made sense to me more than transformers.

Without even seeing this movie, I'm going to go ahead and throw this out there. I think this is going to be one of those movies that is going to give you exactly what you bring into it.

I think people who go into G.I. JOE LOOKING for crappy acting and overdone special effects are going to leave saying "yet...that's what I got."

I think people who give it a chance and look at it spherically and with childlike entheusiasm are going to be psyched.

I for one can't wait to be entertained by live action versions of some of my favorite toys growing up.
